Looking for September 2010 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Hi My surgery date is set for September 7th. I am glad there is such a large support network, I know I will need it! My pre-op is Sept 3rd and all requirements have been met. Thank goodness. Everything has gone so smoothly that I am holding my breath. I went to a seminar in June, changed my insurance July first and had my first M.D. consult mid July. My doctors are sponsors of this site and only do lap bands . I start the pre op diet this Friday. The posts are so informative answering most of my questions and keeping me from getting a little anxious about this life altering step I am about to take. I am curious about who and how you told about this procedure. I look forward to connecting with all of you.

Thank you for the warm welcomes!!!

I keep getting lost on this site.....i don't know how to find my way back here, i made it this time with my back browser..can someone help me with that?? i am not leaving unitl i get a reply....lol :)

Hi Cicigirl - sorry no one was able to get to you any faster. I'm sure others have several different ways to get to this thread but I go to google, search Lap Band Talk and under the link that google brings up has a hyperlink to Pre-Operation Lap-Band®®®® Surgery. I click on the Pre-op link which brings up that page and then I just search for the "Looking for September 2010 Bandsters" which is usually on the first page. There are 2 different threads for September 2010 going but this one is the larger of the 2.

There is another way that I have gone to older post and I use the Quick Links tab across the top and under that tab is a button for Subscribed Threads. Hope this helps.

I have a date of September 13....so now all I have to do is pray to the God Lord above that all my blood work will come back okay, and then I will be set.

I'm a teacher and will have to take a week off school, so that sucks, but I have a good sub ready to come in!

I am sooooo excited, I'm going to get my blood work takes tomorrow! Pray with me that all comes back well!:)

spitfireleo -- So exciting. Just a week from tomorrow and your done.

CalaCake --Congratulations and let us know how your blood work comes out.

playermimi -- Hello. Congratulations. I have only told 2 co-works, my husband and daughter. No one else. Who have you told?

sourmissg -- CLOTHING EXCHANGE as we lose weight! - Band2gether.net LAP-BAND®®® Support Forums That is really a neat idea and especially in today's economy. I wonder if the support group at the hospital has something like that. I hope so. If not, I'll be offering them here. Mostly XL 16/18

lillyegg -- How did things go today?

aliciaj - Congratulations on your Sept 9 surgery date. Look forward to your posts.

Cathy

NYsLegend78 -- With your PX90 you'll be Army material again soon.

mom05 -- The breathing apparatus that NYsLegand78 is talking about is an Incentive Spirometer. I hated that plastic thing. The doctor will mark a line on the tube as your goal to hit. You will suck in the tube which will make a ball go up. The idea is to make the ball hit the line and hold it.

September brethren, I am in a panic. My surgery is 3 weeks from today. The surgeon's office insurance coordinator called today and said that my insurance told her there is a 5 year history required. I spoke to 2 different people at united healthcare who said it wasn't. I called the only doctor I have visited semi-regularly--my gyno--and they said 2 weeks to get my records!!! There is no time.

I have been calling my insurance counselor to no avail all day. I know it will work out, but I am frantic!

hi i have united health care and they do want a 5 year history :) when u called and asked them did they tell you all of the requirements?

mine is a 5 year history, a bmi of 35 with 2 or more co-morbid or 40 bmi with no co-morbids i would deff call and ask them and call your gyno and maybe explain how fast you need your records...i had to call and get some records from a diff doc office and they got them over within 2 days. i wish you the best of luck and hope it gets worked out. who is your employer i think it changes the rules with diff companies mine is uhc with the railroad.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
