Hernia pain after lap band surgery?

I had the band done on Thursday July 8th. I also had a Hernia fixed while they were in there. I didn't even know I had one, and I only had occasional heart burn.

I am about 2 1/2 weeks out now and I am still in a good amount of regular pain. I have to sleep sitting up or else I can not sleep through the night. I also have to pop Tums and Pepcid regularly to keep the "heartburn" feeling at bay.

Has anyone else experienced this pain? How long did it last you? I have asked my doctor and he said this may take some time to heal. I would love to be reassured this isn't going to last forever.

THANKS!

-Jamie

I was also banded on July 8th and had a hernia repair. I had lots of shoulder pain and had to sleep sitting up for the first 2 weeks for sure. After that I got back to normal really fast and now I can sleep flat on either side. You must be more swollen or your hernia was large. Rest lots and hopefully you get better soon.
