SuperDaddy Sang for 8,500 people!!!

Nashville1.jpgHelloooo Nashville!

I just had to share pics from one of the coolest things I've ever been able to do. I sang for one of the largest Youth Specialities events (teachers and youth pastors) in the country last week in Nashville with my band, Poor Baker's Dozen! And here's the kicker...it's the first show I've done since losing 45 pounds!!! WAHOO! I can't even tell you what a thrill it was to share music with over 8,000 people at once! For those of you who know Christian music groups, we hung out for the weekend and sang on the same stage with Chris Tomlin, Third Day, David Crowder Band, Rebecca St. James, Jars of Clay, Toby Mac....and then little ol' US! what a blessing. Take a look at the pics of the venue and the band. I'm the big guy (getting smaller!) who is usually banging on big red garbage cans while I'm singing. You may have to scroll around to see the whole picture. I think you can view all of them from our website now. www.poorbakers.com. Actually, you can pic up a fellow bandster's new Christmas album there, too! Stop in and say hello! Nash5.jpgNash4.jpgNash3.jpgNash6.jpg

8,000 people....that is soooo awesome!!! I bet you felt like a million bucks up on stage with 45 pounds gone.....you look unbelivable, very cool!!!

SuperDaddy

That is so awesome!!! I love Jars of Clay and Chris Tomlin. I listen to Christian music all the time, especially when I am feeling stressed out. It relaxes me and reminds me that God is with me.

What an amazing opportunity!!! Congratulations!

Rock on my Christian brother! How awesome!!!

So glad that you and your band had a good time. Praising God is what it's all about, isn't it!

Keep spreading the good news and your rewards will be many!

Fantastic! I so admire those who can use their gifts to praise the One who bestowed them! I try to do that as a teacher, but it's a lot less people at one time. And they don't all believe. And, it's public school, so it's touchy. You are living my secret fantasy life...singing! But believe me, it's best if I only sing in the car! Thanks for posting this! Cindy

Hey Cindy,

Keep being a light in that public school! I also teach in a public school....what an amazing ministry you can have there with non-believing families. Let them see Jesus through your actions of compassion and fairness, instead of words that could get you in hot water. I'm pretty blessed to be surrounding by other Christians teaching with me...including my principal! I sometimes wonder if I take too many risks with what I say in class. But you know what...they can't get on you for answering any questions that the kids ask you...even in regards to the true Christmas story this season! Speak the truth!

Thanks for the encouragement!

Jon

Way to go!!! How fun to be able to be involved in something like that. You look awesome also....keep losing the pounds superdaddy!!!

God bless you!

Knoxville here and praise the Lord for your talent. He gave you a very special gift. What an awesome crowd. Why didn't I hear about this. Of course I'm about 3 hr. from Nashville, but if I knew there was a bandster singing I would have made my way there. WTG.
