Anybody have any experiences, advise, input on them? My insurance goes into effect with them on July 19 and i've yet to read about any WLS exclusions. My consult is July 26 with Dr. Pearlman in Denver...so excited! however just curious if anyone has had any dealings with them.

The best way to find accurate information quickly is to contact your insurance company directly and ask them if they cover the surgery. They will ask for your ID#/Group# so that they can specifically look at your plan. That's what I did and they cover it. I have BCBS TX. Insurance varies depending on employer inclusions and exclusions.

That's why i was curious. I don't have my plan yet, only the group number. I just have general information here at work. But congrats! At least i know BCBS generally does cover it. So we will see.

I think we are in a similar situation. I was laid off and then rehired, but since it has been a while I have a waiting period for my insurance to become active again. My HR manager isn't the brightest bulb in the socket so she doesn't know if WLS is excluded. I am waiting on my paperwork from Independence Blue Cross so I can know for sure.
