  1. It seems today I'm tight. I haven't been like this from my fill on Tuesday until today. I've only gotten down 1/4 cup turkey sausage crumbles, water, and about 5 chicken pieces (small strips) today. Nothing else will go down. Any suggestions?

  4. I was banded Jan 13, 2011. Since then, i've only lost 31 pounds. i'm pretty much maintaining, but i need to lose 50 more! I talked with the NP yesterday, and she thinks i'm eating too much as far as portions. So today, i'm starting with almost mainly protein, 1/2 cup portions. I REALLY need to push past this 200 mark. its my personal mini goal. I had hoped by this time i was at my goal, i mean its been over a year. Any ideas on what to eat in 1/2 portions? this morning i ate 3 slices turkey bacon and a sausage link. (the eggs here at work are AWFUL.) That was at 7. my 10am snack is 3 tbs peanut butter. I have tuna and chicken strips for lunch, and i figure a small salad tonight for dinner. Any ideas otherwise? i work 12 hour shifts, so today i can't exercise, but tomorrow i go to the gym and plan on doing 45 min cardio (elliptical and treadmill). Am looking for ANY insight at this point. PLEASE HELP!!

    ok. i guess i've just gotten all the rules of good eat/bad eat jacked up over the last year. what i need is ideas on Protein. lol Something filling. today: 3 pieces turkey bacon, 1 piece turkey sausage coffee Water 3 tbsp Peanut Butter about a 5 oz salad with chicken breast slices on it water 1/4 cup soy nuts toasted. I'm hungry. I've always felt like this. its not more hunger or less. its the same. So i'm wondering if i need a tiny fill, because i'm pretty full at 7.5 as it is you know? i'm disheartened to feel like i've wasted so much time with my divorce and working nights, NOW i want to focus on myself and having trouble doing it. Or knowing the tools to do so. Tomorrow for breakfast: Syntha 6 Protein shake with 1% milk (or maybe water, not sure yet) snack: chicken breast slices lunch: maybe tuna? or ideas? Dinner: 4oz steak and maybe a small veggie Any other ideas?

  9. that i'm plateaued is i'm eating too much. but i'm confused, i'm hungry and i have 7.25 in my band. How can i be hungry? i go back next week to follow up. But honestly, i don't know if i can handle much more. I tend to throw up a few times a day now (if i'm eating too fast at work, or something doesn't want to go down) but honestly.....what am i doing wrong? i'm about ready to give up yet i don't want to!
  10. I was banded Jan 13. I've only lost 25 pounds. i'm 5'2, and i can't seem to break thru the 200 pound mark. I'm SO pissed. What do i do? I went back to the doc, we trouble shooted. I'm going to the nutritionist this week to see if i can change my diet some. The worst thing is i haven't focused on myself the past several months because: i went thru a nasty divorce, custody issues, etc.. lost my job, stressed, found a new one making double the pay! now i'm working nights. We did decide i was probably NOT meeting my requirements caloric wise and have been stressed out to the max and in the "starvation" mode. I started excerscising differently. i was walking 3 miles a day about 2-3 times a week. now i'm taking zumba, kickboxing and a fit mix class when i can fit it in my schedule 2-3 times a week. i guess i'm looking for advice, help, anything. My band is at almost 7.4, and pretty tight. since the last fill i'm vomiting off and on due to things not going thru. I'm having to chew WAY more,. etc...so any adivce at this point would be helpful.

    so horribly frustrated....NOT WORKING!

    well today has not been great just as far as quanity. i had a carnation instant Breakfast when i got up, then had some buffalo chicken dip with chicken pieces on the side. I did have one handful of chips with 7 layer dip (work we had a potluck for Labor Day) and about 1/4 cup greek salad, one hot dog. That's what i've had today so far. My goal is to start fresh Tuesday (when i get off at 7am) and do primarly Protein for the first week. I need ideas on what to have portable wise at work. I'm a registered nurse and work 12 hour shifts, so i need things that i can eat that are eat on the go while i'm working. Last week i did about 1/3 cup grilled chicken strips for a snack and a yogurt, that worked well. Then for dinner i had about 1/2 cup whole wheat spagetti with meat sauce and broccoli for my dinner. I don't understand what is going on, seriously.

    Any post-op RN's? How long out of work

    I was off a week. I work ER/Urgent Care 12 hour shifts and just followed modified lifting restrictions. Was totally fine.
  13. So banded 1/13, post op pretty good. had to go home on oxygen because my sats weren't coming up. Ok. now my swelling is going down, and I'M HUNGRY! i feel like i'm cheating when i eat! i'm still eating lots of Soups, i've had some tuna today, some chicken breast yesterday, soft lunch meat, cottage cheese, cheese sticks, yogurt....I ate some tortilla chips without realizing it and now i'm all paranoid. I've lost 13.9 pounds since the week before surgery. But i'm wondering if i should be losing more? Or is this normal til my first fill? I called the nutritionist and she said for me to lay off the shakes and soups, eat more dense Proteins which i am. I guess i feel like i should be restricted by certain foods now and i'm not really? not really sure....i fill up faster of course...but i've not been really watching my nutritional intake except for Protein (65 grams daily). I guess you hear of all these people who drop 30 pounds in the first 2 weeks. I'm not doing that. lol Tell me i'm ok or normal...or what i should be doing!

    I feel like i'm doing it wrong

    This makes me feel good. I'll admit i'm not watching EVERYTHING i eat, but trying to make healthier choices. Today was 1/2 cup egg beaters southwest with a slice of thin ham in it for Breakfast, Water, lunch? 1/2 sandwich (chicken fajita from chilis) but no bread, just the cooked chicken and veggies and corn Soup snack 1 cheese stick snack 1/2 cup cottage cheese of course, water, tea and diet lemonade. i'm full today, i guess i feel like i should be cheating myself of everything. lol

  18. How long post surgery did take off work? i'm trying to figure out...everyone says something different. I'm planning on my surgery on a Wed, and returning to work on Monday or Tuesday. I have a fairly light duty physical job at this point. How long did everyone take off?

    Time off work?

    Well i can't take off that much time. i'm relatively new at my job but i'm a nurse manager at a clinic. so i'm sure that i will be able to do light duty stuff. Surgery tentatively set for Jan 5. SO excited! So i plan on being back to work on the 10th. I can't afford to take off more time, and this is a relatively new job so i can't really ask for more time off either. HOPING i don't have issues. i never have before surgery wise. Usually 2 days and i'm "normal" ish.
  20. Anybody have any experiences, advise, input on them? My insurance goes into effect with them on July 19 and i've yet to read about any WLS exclusions. My consult is July 26 with Dr. Pearlman in Denver...so excited! however just curious if anyone has had any dealings with them.

    That's why i was curious. I don't have my plan yet, only the group number. I just have general information here at work. But congrats! At least i know BCBS generally does cover it. So we will see.

    What do you mean finances everyone? it seems impossible that people with credit issues, etc...could get financing regardless of their surgeon and insurance?
