Monday Is Surgery Day! What To Eat Now?

My doctors office allowed me to have Thanksgiving and start my liquid diet today, the day after. Can I only have broth and popsicles? Or can I eat some Tomato Soup or something? Also, WHY do you have to do a liquid diet BEFORE anyway? What's the purpose? I am scared about getting nasceus after the surgery! I have THE most sensitive stomach! ANY suggestions about how to prevent that?

When you go for surgery, tell them you get sick, they will give you something for it. They gave me 2 shots and I had no problems, I didn't dry heave once.

I can't help you with the liquid diet b/4 surgery b/c I didn't have to be on any special diet before hand. I thought all liquid diets preop were Protein drinks? no? I'm not sure.

I think the pre-op liquid diet's purpose is to shrink the size of your liver. I've also heard that a liquid diet the few days before surgery could help with post-op gas pain. Your doctor's office didn't tell you what you could have? I would think you could have Protein Shakes.< /p>
