Anyone rejected because of liver?

I was a heavy drinker for year but stopped a few years ago. I still have wine a few nights/week but nothing like I used to.

I am concerned I cant get the surgery because of this. I am assuming I have a large liver.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Your doctor will probably have you do a pre-op liquid diet to shrink your liver. It's probably best to talk with him/her if you're worried. But yes, surgeries have been cancelled due to an oversized liver.

The nutritionist was telling me last week about a lady that was very P.O.'d at the surgeon when she woke up following her lap band procedure. She hadn't stuck to her doctors orders prior to surgery and her liver was still large at the time of surgery so he had to open her up to do the lapband. So it is very important to follow orders!
