Welcome Carol !!!! I think you will like this group, they are all very supportive. If you have any questions please let us know.

I remember how difficult it was to wait for the surgery date. Hang in there!!! It won't be long long now until you are on your way to better health. Is you doctor asking you to lose weight prior to the surgery?

My name is Karen and I live in NW Indiana. I am 62 years old and still working; however, I am truly looking forward to retirement in the next few years. I am a widow, and have two kids and three grandsons. My daughter, and her family live two and half hours away, with my six year old grandson. My son and his family live in Maryland with my 5 year old and two year old grandson.

As you can see from my ticker, I was banded nearly two years ago. It is truly the best thing I did for myself. It is amazing how much better I feel. My joints don't hurt all the time and I have the energy of someone at least 10 years younger.

I wish you much success on your journey.

Karen

Hi Karen, Thanks for the encouraging words. I've only lost 12 lbs. but have my pre-op diet coming up in June.

My diabetes is so improved with this small loss. (less insulin and improved blood work)!!

I'm kind of going thru a Mourning the loss of my best friend "Food" this week. Just a small BUMP in the road. I am really very excited about having less pain in my ankles, feet and back. It will be nice having more energy so I can start moving. Have a Great Weekend, Carol D'

Hi Nice to meet all of you. I'm Angela, i live outside Portland Oregon and am so excited about my upcoming LAP-BAND® surgery. I am scared and hopeful all at once. Does it hurt much?

Welcome Angela! When is the date of your surgery? I didn't think it hurt too much, and I also had two hernia repairs at the same time. I was feeling pretty much like my old self in four days. I spent one night in the hospital because of the hernia repairs. Honestly, the first day I came home, I thought "What did I do to myself?". Then the next day I was much better.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Karen

Hi and WELCOME to the group...

You will be fine , its natural to be a little scared , I was the same right up until I walked into the hospital , then I was quite calm...

No problems at all post op . just follow your surgeon/dietitions guide lines...

I was very tired and slept a lot the first few days but soon bounced back to my old self ..I am very happy to have made this choice to become a Bandit....I bet you will be too...My knees thank me everytime I go for a walk wvwn though I have just lost 18kilo`s and have a long way to go I am so Happy, good luck on the new journy of your life.....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
