After the 3rd day, all is going to get better real fast. After a week, I was at 95% of feeling normal. Get walking as soon as you can, it really helps.

Best of luck!

Hi. Ive been having a hard time emotionally being on Clear Liquids. The nutritionist told 2 to 3 days clear liquids, then move to full. But the dr nixed that and said clear liquids until I see him -- which will not be until this Friday (10 days in all).

Im in less pain each day, but am having such a hard time emotionally. Yesterday my body was "cleaning house" so to speak, cleansing the anesthetic and meds out of the system...so I had lots of practice getting up quickly and moving to the bathroom.

I talked with my counselor on the phone and bless his heart, he let me cry and sob it out while we talked.

Today I have awoken early, not in pain, just drained. I plan to take a shower, have broth and juice, and then take a walk. But to tell the truth, I feel like I just want to lay here until Friday.

Im glad to hear you are feeling good and moving about, getting out taking walks. Did any emotions come up for you?

I think I didnt realize I was holding in so much over the years, the impace on my life of being so large. This band is life-changing in so many ways that I didnt realize before hand.

Even with all this going on, I know I made the right decision.

I'll move forward at whatever pace I move, but there seems to be a part of the journey that is so private, intimate, and personal...a kind of deep loneliness that is being touched and illuminated, welcomed back into the world of others.

Is anyone else going thru this?

I think the restriction of clear liquids kind of brought this on, which is ok. I also think once I can have full liquids where I can add Protein Powder to foods I will bounce right back.

In the meantime I have an opportunity to really see what I have been hiding.

Thank you to everyone here who is sharing their journey together! What a ride!

hiddn

My surgery is scheduled on Tuesday July 27th! I just started my 2 week Optifast liquid diet today and had all of my pre op done today as well. I am a cash paid patient so I didn't have to wait on insurance (my insurance company denied me for this surgery). I am very anxious/nervous/excited!! I wish the best for all of you and great success!!

Woohoo, I'm now banded!

Didn't get released until around 7:30pm, and just made it home a few minutes ago. A little sore. Right now it's mostly the gas in my shoulders that are bothering me, unless I move around a lot. Don't forget the Gas-X! Also, a pillow for the ride home. Every little bump feels like a huge pot hole.

Hope all the other 7/13 banders are doing well!

Hey there all 7/13 bandsters, surgery went well for me I was home at 2:00 and having some minor discomfort I am a stomach sleeper so I am making sure to take the pain meds right before bed in case i roll over out of habit. I had a lot of pain in my chest when I first came out of surgery but once I was sitting up it felt much better. I hope you are all doing great!!

Hello all, I'm new to the board. I'm getting banded July 15th. I'm very excited, yet nervous because the whole process has happend so fast for me. My first appointment with the doctor was in April, and my insurance approved me in June. It happened so fast I can't believe its real. I'll tell you what is real though, my HUNGER. I have been on a clear liquid diet for six days now and it sucks. I can't believe what other people get to eat on their pre-op diets. My doctor is pretty strict. He even makes his patients stay over night in the hospital for precaution.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
