Pain? What should it feel like?

Recommended Posts

For anyone who has been banded, what should the pain feel like? I was banded yesterday and I have a dull pain in my shoulder blades but it is off and on and not much of a bother, but ever since surgery I have some discomfort in my stomach area. It feels like I ate too much and its all just sitting in my stomach.

Is this a normal discomfort to feel? If so how long does it take to go away?

Thanks! :scared2:

This is normal. The doctor filled you with a special gas to inflate your stomach for surgery. Even though they try to take most of the gas out some still remains. They are gas pains. I found that walking and GasX strips helped the most. Also, take your pain meds. Best wishes on a speedy recovery!!

Try to walk 3x's a day and I used both the GasX strips and chewables. Popped them babies like crack! Im 6 days post op and still taking them at night. For some reason, when I get to resting, the gas heads towards my left shoulder and drops me like a rock. I take a few GasX and about 30min later, I can lay down without issues.

The GAs is my biggest challenge so far.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
