Dr. Jesse Lopez

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to let anyone in Missouri that is looking for a doctor that I used Dr. Jesse Lopez in Lenexa, Kansas. I had surgery the 7th of november and everything went excellent. The surgery center he used is by far the best medical establishment I have been to. If you need info just message me.

-Debra

Where was your surgery performed? Have you heard of a Dr Saline or Salinas? I called Dr Lopez's office they mentioned this other doctor.

My surgery was performed in Overland Park, Kansas. I have never heard of the doctor you have mentioned but as a word of warning- if I were you I would try to avoid Midwest Institute of Bariatric Surgery or I think they go buy Surigical Weight Loss Center in Lenexa at all costs.

I have to whole-heartedly agree w/ Debra! Go ANYWHERE except for MWIBS/WLSC!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Lopez did my surgery in January and the pre/post care has been exceptional! His staff is the best you could ever expect, plus some. I'm not going monthly now as we found out we're expecting a little suprise in a few months......but they still call to check on me!!!! They have been so good to me!!

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply. I guess I was a little confused because I went to a MWIBS (Weight Loss Surgical Center) informational meeting back in January 2006, and the card I have with the packet has Dr Lopez's name on it. I have since found out that Dr Lopez is no longer with MWIBS . I am scheduled for a consultation Monday July 3 there. I was going to be referred to a Dr Selim. I think I will cancel until I get more info.

I am so glad that i came across this message board! I can't tell you all how grateful I am for your help. I really want the lap band, but I want to be as informed as I can possibly be.

So Dr Lopez left? Isn't this the group that Dr Malley left also? Now I am really confused as to where to go. I have United Health Care. My specific policy does not pay any out of network benefits at all, so I am trying to find someone who is in-network, and whose hospital is in-net work also, if at all possible.

But I am definitely going to heed the warnings to not go to MWIBS. Can anyone tell me what the problem is with them?

Fran

Sherry,

Give me a call.....Dr. Lopez called me today and i will tell you what I know.

-Debra

May I find out what you know also? I posted my question on the board, but it might not be a good idea to post certain things of a sensitive nature. My email address is drcollier@kc.rr.com just in case you feel like going thru it again. I realize you were discussing these things over 6 months ago, so I'll understand if you are no longer in the mood to talk about MWIBS. I went to an informational meeting in january 2006, and am just now taking steps to get the lap band done this summer.

Fran,

I am also UHC. Dr Lopez is in-network for them and the hospital that he does surgery is is out-of-network...BUT:D ...they take whatever the insurance pays as what it would be as though it was in-network because they want you to be able to use their facility....which is exceptional BTW.

Dr lopez can be reached at 913-649-7300, just ask to speak to Ginger.

Good Luck!

-Debra

I'm not shy and will tell you anything you'd like to know. I agree it's very sensitive and shouldn't probably be discussed in the forums. Please see the private message I am sending to you!

And don't give up on getting your band!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How were you treated at Midwest? Did the staff treat you well? Are they competent? What are your impressions of that place?

Thanks.

You might have gotten my question already but I am not sure. Were you treated well at Midwest? And what are your impressions of them? I am scheduled to have a consultation there very soon. Thanks.

I used Dr. Lopez when he was with Midwest and I stayed there because I

already paid inadvanced for my fills.

I think that I am going to switch to Dr. Lopez now that my year is up.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
