Lack of knowledge about Lap-Band

It amazes me how many health-care professionals know hardly anything about the Lap-Band. I had to educate my PCP about it, and then I had to tell the pharmacist about how we weren't supposed to swallow pills whole. She asked me if the Lap-Band was reversible -- uh, not really, unless you have another surgery.

Is it just my podunk town?

Let me put it this way:

You wouldn't ask a high school band teacher why your son/daughter is failing chemistry. You wouldn't ask a photographer why a baker is charging you so much for a wedding cake. You wouldn't ask the mailman why FedEx is taking so long with your package. You wouldn't ask the optomitrist to look at a cavitiy you think you might have. My point is this: they are all in related fields, but are specializing in something. Why would you expect something else from a Dr?

I blame House, M.D. He's an internist, surgeon, pathologist, radiologist, pediatrician, obstertician, and full time drug addict.

So, of course you'd think your doctor and pharmacist should know everything.

Hey guys.. I think she left.

Do you think some people are so randomly defensive and touchy because they are hungry? :blushing:

I know I hated everything and everyone on my pre op diet.
