I'm 3 months post op and 35 pounds down!! Last weekend, my daughter and I were wrestling around and she literally stepped on my port and it hurt like CRAZY!!!

The past couple days, I have had an EXTREMELY tender spot just to the right of my port. It woke me up in the middle of the night a few days ago and now it's annoying all the time. Not painful when I leave it alone but if I touch the specific spot next to the port, it's pretty painful.

Any ideas? My next appt is May 3rd. Should I call and see if I can get in earlier?

I am having a very similar issue and was just about to start a thread about it till I read your post. I was banded on the 2nd and haven't had much port pain until now...which is beginning to worry me. My incision has gotten very red and is extremely sensitive. It's sore when I touch it and just sitting here it aches. However no one has stepped on my stomach and have no idea why this is happening now. Should I be concerned? Good luck to you and hopefully we will get some answers!

First post sounds like you may have popped a stitch on the port tie down. It's painful but usually not particularly dire, although you should tell your doctor about it when you're there next. If you've pulled a stitch through muscle, yeah, that could hurt.

Second post... is your incision infected? Use your thumbs to (gently) pull on your skin along the incison. If your skin goes white, or mostly white, you're likely fine. If it stays bright red, then you may have an infection. Surgical scars take a long time to heal, much longer than people expect. I had my surgery in October and my incisions still occasionally bug me too. Take it from somebody who has two and a half feet of surgical scars from various procedures, your incisions may bug you for up to a year. The next phase will be the itchy phase... I hate that one.

I don't think it's infected. I did what you said and it stayed white. I guess I didn't realize how long it would take to heal.
