Gas Pain & Weight Gain (3wks Post Op)

I am three weeks post-op. I have been doing fine with the exception of terrible gas pain in the afternoon. Every afternoon, I feel extremely terrible and all I do is take Gas X and pass gas all evening. I am not sure what is going on but it is not fun. I had lost a total of 25lbs since the pre-op diet. However, the past 2 weeks, the scale has stopped moving in the right direction. I have gained 3lbs since surgery. I am not sure why, because I eat small portions and my calorie intake per day is between 800 and 1000 a day. I have eliminated all simple carbs and very little complex carbs.

I am not discouraged just a tad bit disappointed that my scale is not going down. I still belive that I made the right choice and when I see my doctor next Friday, I will express my concern.

We were banded on the same day. However, I've sort of been experiencing the same issues. My gas isn't the painful gas it's just that I also do alot of "tooting" in the evening. I went to see my doctor last Wednesday and he told me not to really worry about not losing any weight for about a month. He said I really needed to focus on making sure that I was healing on the inside. I've been trying to walk more and that has seemed to help quite a bit. I wish you continued success...

I was banded on March 18th and get the same things. Always in the afternoon. All I do is belch and pas gas. I too have stopped losing weight. I was thinking maybe I'm eating too fast. I had bought a high fiber/high protein cereal which just made it worse, so I was thinking maybe it's the fiber. I didn't have this much gas after the surgery! go figure.
