Drinking and burping after first fill

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill yesterday and was told to stick with liquids today. Every time I drink something, even Water, I burp a lot on each sip I take. It hurts in my chest after awhile. I had 3 cc's put in. Is this normal?

It could be a couple of things. You may be drinking too fast or taking sips that are too big. Or, you may be a bit swollen after the fill (for me, this usually goes away within a day or so). Or, you may have gotten too much of a fill. I recommend talking to your doctor if you're still having problems tomorrow.

Last night I started pbing after a few sips of a Protein drink, so I stopped drinking it. Later on I was at a women's group meeting and they served food. There were deviled eggs, so I just ate the filling of one and pbed it up too. I couldn't even drink any iced tea. All of it just kept coming up. Then when I got home, there was the problem of taking my meds, I take a lot. I couldn't take over half of them because they wouldn't go down.

This morning it started all over again. I took my meds one at a time with small sips of Water and that worked except for one, Metformin, which is too big and can't be broken in half. When I started on my Protein Drink, it just didn't want to go down, so I gave up. Now, a few hours later, my pills and Protein Drink are going down fine.

You should go get some fill taken out because it sounds like you are too tight.

That was very good advice. I went in today and they took out 1cc. and that seems to be a lot better. I am not even burping when I drink and I can take my Metformin which is a large pill for my diabetes. So far, I have been able to eat a small amount of applesauce, some blended vegetable Soup and Protein Drinks. The nurse told me I could advance to mushy foods tomorrow and then to whatever I can tolerate. I just feel soooooooo much better! Thanks for your help.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
