Wonderful gastric bypass

Recommended Posts

:thumbup:I am 7 days post op and feeling good, my surgery was carried out by Mr. Sean Woodcock and his team at North Tyneside General Hospital.

Words are'nt enough to thank the surgeon, his team, nurses and staff of the hospital, my treatment and care was fabulous.

Anyone in area thinking of bariatric surgery should press their gp for a referal, all in all the NHS are making it easier for us larger people to get help, it takes some commitment and a little weight loss but its all worth while in the end.

Good Luck

Hey there, Lesley Ann, I am so happy for you. I knew you would get there in the end.

Sean Woodcock is wonderful, isn't he?!?!? Like a great big teddy bear: you just want to pick him up and cuddle him. And he will support you through the process. He is fab.

And now this is the beginning of the rest of your life. Live long, live healthy and live happy. I'm only round the corner if you need me!! Meet you at the Haymarket at New Year?

Hi Lesley Ann,

Glad your surgery went well and you are doing fine!!

May I ask, did you have a revision to bypass from a band? Or was this your first WLS procedure?

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and a new healty you!

Sean Woodcock is GOD!! lol was 'done' by sean 4 years ago but band has now failed...with my help I hasten to add!! so I'm having a conversion to bypass on October..just had my pre op gastroscopy on 9th April. Not pleasant but made more palatable with lovely smile and a rub of my leg from him lol....:cool2::thumbup:

Good luck to all of you being done by (as his ever expanding female fan club call him) SEXY SEAN... my email is kb.92@btinternet.com if anyone wants to contact me. I live in newcastle/wallsend and go to the Gateshead support group when i can....lots of other sean fans there too!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
