Well...the dr never called back. My chest is still hurting/tight. Like I said liquids are fine and I am starving, but man this sucks! It is supposed to be a good day lol. I am hoping it is just some swelling or irritation and goes away soon and I don't have to go right back for an unfill. It has at least gotten better...it's not gone, but it is better. Have any of you experienced tightness in the chest after a fill and if so did it go away?

Sorry to say I never had any reaction until 2 weeks after a fill.

Good morning bandsters!

Anyone else think we should start a new thread on January 1st? This one is sooooo long and I have a feeling that most of the early participants are no longer here.

So, we're not going to talk about my weight this morning which is still bobbing around like a drowning man. It will be enough to say that I feel good, albeit so hungry I'm ready to join our demon kitty and sit around the ferret cage waiting for Gracie to kick some food out through the bars.

On the food front, despite the hunger, I've managed to stick to 1100 calories and less than 20gm of carbs so I'm pretty pleased with myself. So pleased that I'm going to hold off going to see the new Harry Potter movie because I know that there is *no way* I can sit in a theater with the smell of popcorn while being this hungry. I know me and I will, despite the best of intentions, get a big bucket and down the whole thing. :)

Elcee, I ordered a bollywood exercise dvd. Unlike Zumba, this looks like something I can keep up with. :)

I went back to the front of this thread, just curious about the MIA's. Does anyone know what happened to J'smom or IlluminationLady? Bob...Betsy...how are you two doing?

Ok...time to fix breakfast...

Everytime I get a fill, I have that chest pain. It goes away after things loosen up a bit. It feels for days like you are having a heart attack!

I think that might not be a bad idea--new year, new thread. I think we may have lost some people because the thread is so long and difficult to follow? I do not know. I think people feel like you have to post daily maybe?

As for me, I have lost 9lbs since my last fill, but I only say 6lbs because I had gone up 3lbs right before it. It is funny how it took almost 40lbs at first to even notice a major difference in clothes. Now with these few pounds, clothes someone just gave me, now have saggy booty syndrome (hate saggy booty syndrome-can take big in the waist, but saggy booty duty I cannot handle:thumbdown:) Oh well, I am going to take my saggy booty down the halls of the school and wonder how attractive I am looking from behind:blink:

Shad ...

Cracking up !!!! LOL

I have saggy Booty, my extra skin from my thighs are folding over my knees from the gravity and my boobs are no longer existant - not to mention the Bat wings from hell !!! Oh well, what can i say ? I PAID someone to do this to me :)

Better this than still being afraid of folding chairs, chairs with arms, sizes with X's behind the numbers and wondering if I'm gonna live thru the nite...

You guys are killing me with the 'saggy booty'. I had to read that several times because I thought I was reading saggy 'boots' and was wondering why everyone was buying 'Christie' boots if they were saggy. Ok...so I've been awake since 4 a.m. (damn pain in the arm again).

I have saggy 'everything'. I wish they could just do a body lift by grabbing the top of your head and pulling up, tying it off like a ponytail and then 'snip'. Of course that would probably mean we'd all be wearing goatees. hysterical.gif

I read it as "soggy" booty! Was wondering if bands cause people to pee their pants.

Elfie, adjusting your goals during this time is a great idea! I AM going to see Harry Potter, took the day off even! Have tickets already. Life is good!

Hi all!

It's been a while since I've been on here. I haven't lost much over the past 6 months or so, maybe 15 lbs! But I got a fill last Friday and have lost about 6lbs over the week.

But I have been extra tired, because I haven't been able to eat really and I'm wondering if I'm too tight! I did better eating yesterday and today. I actually ate a whole piece of pizza! But it was sitting at the top of my throat and I had to stand up and move around a bit because sitting was uncomfortable. Before my fill on Friday, I could down a foot long sub no problem, and now, I'm usually full off a stick of cheese! And I didn't get a huge fill either.

I also wonder if this is a problem: every time I eat I can feel and hear the food go down, it takes like an hour, and it's this repetition of little "burping" sounds. I'm not actually burping, but you can hear it, mouth closed and all, sounds like it's coming from my neck.

Anybody else have that problem. Is that a sign of being too tight?

Hope you all are doing well.

Well if the food went down and stayed down, I would say no, but I am no expert.

I bought those easy tone Reeboks--my husband said my butt has lifted. He is not a good liar, so maybe those damn $100 sneakers are working--better be. The pants I have are sagging off me--I know it is time to stop wearing them thanks to the teacher assistant who always says "time to pack those up boss" :) Probably not a good look going on back there, but I am true professional diva...I know I still look good.

Great to see you posting again! Hey, any pound lost is worth gold!

It sounds to me like you might be at a sweet spot. I would ride it out just a little while and see how it goes. Those little uncomfortable burpy moments are what I call PBing. The PB most people talk about now is throwing up. You may need to take it very slow and change the list of things you can not tolerate for awhile.

T.G.I.F. !

I'm just maintaining my weight right now. As long as I can keep that up through the holidays I'll be happy.

I have to spend much of the weekend cleaning house for Thanksgiving and I started a sorta large quilt for a beginner. If I stay busy I don't want to graze as much.

I keep having scenes from the movie "Mouse Hunt" flashing through my mind. I still only caught the one mouse, but today was a little freaked out when I looked out on my front porch for a package I'm expecting. I have 2 very large empty planters on either side of my front door. There was an animal poop near one of them (maybe cat or fox size). Then I looked in the planters to see if my package was in there. There were 3 dead mice in the one by the poop! The planters are too large for the mice to get in there by themselves. EEEWWWW!

Denise: My son and I went to see Harry Potter this afternoon. It actually wasn't bad at all because we went to the first showing and I know (from experience) that the popcorn was last night's and has just been warmed up under the lights so wasn't tempted with the popcorn. It probably helped that I ate lunch right before we walked out the door. The movie was pretty good but I don't think it was the best one. Besides, when Harry took off his shirt, he's kind of ripped...and, of course, since I noticed that I suddenly felt like a pervert.

Liz: Hey there, Liz. I was wondering if you were still around. That sounds like PBing. When I'm doing that, I know my pouch is still moving food through the band but slowly and I notice it happens most often if I take that one bite too many or I eat something that's maybe a bit more 'dense' (like pizza). The little 'burps' are just air coming up through to displace what's covering the opening. I wouldn't say you're too tight...maybe just need to stop a bite or two sooner. :)

Shads: $100 for a pair of tennies? I guess that's cheaper than going to the plastic surgeon and getting a butt tuck. Personally, I don't think anything short of a butt tuck is going to help my droopy backside...which seems to be sliding to the top of my thighs.

HB: Sounds like you have a secret kitty admirer and he/she is leaving you little prezzies. How thoughtful to display them in your planter. hysterical.gif

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
