Veterans - what do you wish you had known on day 1?

In other words, if you had your band "installed" today, what would you have done differently to have made the journey more successful/productive/easier?

I would have started exercising sooner. I would have at least started a regular walking routine right after being banded.

I wish I woulda played by the rules - like spent the entire month on liquids instead of cheating week 2. And I wish I had know how hungry I would be day 3 - I had no clue that my band wouldn't work yet. I must've been daydreaming during my orientation.
