Hi I am here to learn as much as I can about the lap band. I am thinking of getting the surgery. On monday I am going to a seminar that the doctor gives to learn about the procedure. I am also looking for the right health insurance to buy and hopefully cover the surgery. Thanks to everyone for sharing all of this so people can read it and learn if this is right for them.

I went to the most amazing and helpful seminar ever... it really helpsed!! It was so nice to be around previous patients who were very honest about their experience with the lap band..to be honest what I loved about this particular seminar I went to was that most people who worked their were former patients..so at any point in my journey...I can contact the secretary and just chat with her and ask her questions because I know...she was once there before!!

that's awesome. One of the things I learned on this journey is just how incredibly important it is to find the right surgeon with the right after care program. I'm convinced that it really ups your chances of success if you find a practice that you want to be a part of. Good luck!:eek:

Thanks atgoalgal...I really got such a good vibe from this practice..I know it was the first seminar I went to but after talking to the other patients and staff...I think I have found my Drs. They have a private practice and really cater to the patients needs...all the patients there had the Drs. cell phone numbers!!!
