That is how I got where I am today, I wanted to lose 10 lbs when I was 22 and I started taking those. My metabolism has never been the same. After that everything I ate went straight to "storage". I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy.

After losing a dismal 4 pounds this month I was seriously thinking of going to my Weight Management Clinic where I got my Phen-Fen from 12 years ago and have been on and off with the Phentermine every since.... ALSO, I started taking "black Beauties" and Dexatrim when I was 13...

However, After a day of consideration, I realized that all these 30 years of taking diet pills and I'm still overweight so whats the points? Plus, I was scared of taking them and having them get stuck... I was wondering what would happen if I poured the little balls out of the capsule and swalled them what would happen. But since yesterdays fill and the current level of restriction, I don't think I need to go that route yet... So Far today, I've had one bite of a very soft scrambled egg that took 45 minutes and a sip of crystal light cranberry juice to get down and 2 bites of liquidy oatmeal still trying to go all the way down... Yep. I'm gonna be okay without the diet pills...

Phentermine messes your body up in so many ways, nevermind your mood, skin, and sleep patterns. Make sure you do a lot of research about it before you make a decision. As a nurse I have spoke to quite a few physicians about it, as I had thought about trying it before being banded and was advised strongly against it.

I think they weren't ready for WLS.

You either diet or you modify your lifestyle. Doing both is counterproductive.

Right now I am using the Slimquick Cleanse thingy, just to clean things out! I haven't done one before and I feel amazing but of course that isn't the same as a laxative. I have tried Meridia before didn't do much for me but I have a friend, who isn't banded, and it has done wonders for her. It basically makes it so you aren't hungry and instead of eating because you are eatting to live.

Right now I am also using the Slimquick powdered thing that you add to Water basically like crystal light I don't know if it makes a difference because I just started this week. I don't feel totally different I do think it is somewhat of a filler and does seem to wake me up. It doesn't taste as good as crystal light. I'm giving it a try because I have been on a plateau for about a month. I have upped the exercise and I am trying this so we'll see. I know these things aren't magic just like the band isn't majic it is an aid!

I have had no problems and I don't know if my feelings are psychosymatic but I feel lighter and overall better. I have had increased movements and amounts. I haven't had the need to run to the bathroom no sudden urges. So I think it has been a very good process so far.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
