Medical Criteria????? Confused....

I've read alot of threads on here but I'm not seeing anything concerning medical conditions that qualify someone for the surgery. Am I mistaken or isn't there a criteria with insurance companies to pay for the procedure? If there is what are some of the issues that folks have had to qualify?

I can't answer for all insurance companies, but my insurance says you have to have a bmi of 40 or over, or a bmi of 35 or over with two or more comorbidities... such things as hypertension, sleep apnea, diabetes.....ect.

Thanks for the reply... I'm new to this and really want the surgergy. I've done tons of research on the band as well as other weightloss surgeries. The Band seems to be the safest. I guess I just need to make the appointment
