Port Revision Surgery
I'm sorry! I know it sucks really bad! I was banded the first time on July 23, 2010.. In October, my port also flipped and had to have surgery!! I was so overwhelmed... Well, guess what.... two weeks ago I had to have emergency surgery because my band slipped! I definately understand your frustration.. But, the port revision is not nearly as bad as the actual banding.... it took me about three days and I was fine. Like I said, I know it is really disappointing! Just keep your head up and remember why you had the surgery in the first place

JULY 2010 BANDSTER!!! ANYBODY WANT TO CHECK IN???
Glad you started this topic. Ive been curious too where everyones progress was that was banded in July. I feel like my weightless is going pretty slow, but I am thrilled that I have lost. I was banded on July 23rd. I weighed 255 and am down to 210 so I've lost about 45 lbs. I'm averaging about a pound a week. Two months after my initial surgery I did have to have another surgery because my port flipped. I kinda wonder if that had an effect on my weightloss. Im really needing to get back in gear. This past month has been hectic and I've really slacked off on my diet and exercise. But today is a new day! Congrats on your weightloss. Would love to hear from some other July Bandsters as well.

PLEASE HELP ME
Someone please give me some help. I got really bad stuck last nite at a Christmas party. I was sliming/throwingup for 4 plus hours. I was able to eat a tiny bit today, but now it feels like someone has beat the crap outta of my stomach. hurts soo bad I had to take a pain pill and made me cry. Has totally ruined my Christmas. It is especially sore around the port area. What should I do? Should I call the doc or are they just going to tell me to go on liquids which im going to now do.. no more food for a few days. Why does it hurt so bad????

Eating out
Hi everyone. I need some advice. My band is pretty tight right now. I usually eat out about once a week but I stick to a salad or soup because I don't like getting stuck and having to throw up in public. Well tommorrow me and the hubby are going out for our anniversary and I'd really like to get some better than soup or salad. How hard do you think it will be to eat a steak like a filet tenderloin? Or do you think I should try fish? Well probably go to outback or red lobster. Any suggestions?

Vitamins
As a young woman, being 23, is there any other vitamins I should be taking along with my centrum multivitamins? Is there any vitamins that I could safely take along with my centrum to help increase my metabolism or help with moodiness?

They couldnt fill me!!!!
About a month ago I went in for my 3rd fill and my doc couldn't fill me either... Went in and had fluoro done and yes, it had flipped! I was so mad.. considering I just had surgery in July.. It just seemed way too soon for complications to arrive. But I had surgery and had it repositioned. The surgery wasn't that bad.. Just sore for a few days. Good luck to you, hopefully yours isn't flipped though!

Stuck on everything....
Thank you for the replies! I am still confused though.... I think maybe it did have alot to do with my chewing and eating slow enough though. Tonight we had beef stew and I actually ate two moderate sized portions; it went down fine, which it was very saucy, and i still wasn't THAT full.... Two hours later after eating I am hungry again; my husbands pizza is really tempting me ..... I'm afraid if I was to get another fill I wouldn't have hardly any food choices to eat that wouldn't get stuck..... any more advice???? Thanks guys.

smoking
Hello, I am actually 9 days smoke free!! Never thought in this world I could do it.. I'm young being 23 but I've been smoking a pack a day since I was 16. I'm on chantix. couldn't of done it with out it. I smoked for the first 8 days on it, then on the 9th day I woke up and decided I just wasn't going to smoke.. The first three days were pretty rough, had bad headaches, but since then, I'm fine. I crave them now just emotionally I guess you would say, but not physically. You should really check into chantix. it's great.

UHC denial - please help!!!
SO sorry to hear this.... I have UHC and yes, the 6 month diet is required for me. I am on month two. I started my diet before I even seen my surgeon.. I can't believe they didn't tell you that initially! Did your surgeon's office not check your requirements?? My advice is to do the 6 month diet and try for approval. The time does go by pretty quick..
