  1. Hello..... Before the layout was changed on here, you could do a search for a surgeon and see who their patients are.. Is that feature no longer on here????
  2. Glad you started this topic. Ive been curious too where everyones progress was that was banded in July. I feel like my weightless is going pretty slow, but I am thrilled that I have lost. I was banded on July 23rd. I weighed 255 and am down to 210 so I've lost about 45 lbs. I'm averaging about a pound a week. Two months after my initial surgery I did have to have another surgery because my port flipped. I kinda wonder if that had an effect on my weightloss. Im really needing to get back in gear. This past month has been hectic and I've really slacked off on my diet and exercise. But today is a new day! Congrats on your weightloss. Would love to hear from some other July Bandsters as well.
  3. Someone please give me some help. I got really bad stuck last nite at a Christmas party. I was sliming/throwingup for 4 plus hours. I was able to eat a tiny bit today, but now it feels like someone has beat the crap outta of my stomach. hurts soo bad I had to take a pain pill and made me cry. Has totally ruined my Christmas. It is especially sore around the port area. What should I do? Should I call the doc or are they just going to tell me to go on liquids which im going to now do.. no more food for a few days. Why does it hurt so bad????
  4. Hi everyone. I need some advice. My band is pretty tight right now. I usually eat out about once a week but I stick to a salad or soup because I don't like getting stuck and having to throw up in public. Well tommorrow me and the hubby are going out for our anniversary and I'd really like to get some better than soup or salad. How hard do you think it will be to eat a steak like a filet tenderloin? Or do you think I should try fish? Well probably go to outback or red lobster. Any suggestions?
  5. Has anyone tried the 17 day diet? I'm considering ordering the book, so just curious if anyone has tried it.
  6. Ok, now that the layout has changed, can you still do a search on your surgeon and see his or her patients? It used to be up top along with the forumn, calender, pictures, ect. ???
  7. As a young woman, being 23, is there any other vitamins I should be taking along with my centrum multivitamins? Is there any vitamins that I could safely take along with my centrum to help increase my metabolism or help with moodiness?
  8. About a month ago I went in for my 3rd fill and my doc couldn't fill me either... Went in and had fluoro done and yes, it had flipped! I was so mad.. considering I just had surgery in July.. It just seemed way too soon for complications to arrive. But I had surgery and had it repositioned. The surgery wasn't that bad.. Just sore for a few days. Good luck to you, hopefully yours isn't flipped though!
  9. Thank you for the replies! I am still confused though.... I think maybe it did have alot to do with my chewing and eating slow enough though. Tonight we had beef stew and I actually ate two moderate sized portions; it went down fine, which it was very saucy, and i still wasn't THAT full.... Two hours later after eating I am hungry again; my husbands pizza is really tempting me ..... I'm afraid if I was to get another fill I wouldn't have hardly any food choices to eat that wouldn't get stuck..... any more advice???? Thanks guys.
  10. Hello, So, i just had my fifth fill on Monday... Never felt any restriction. Until today that it is, and I don't even know if that's what you would call restriction, probably not! I felt like I was literally hungry all day long, even after I just ate.. but it didn't matter what I tried to eat, I got stuck on everything.. Got stuck on eggs, Pork Chop, rice, vegatables...... I'm not getting full, just stuck....... HELP?? what's this mean?
  11. Hi, I'm on day 5 on my liquid diet... It sucks, period. LOL. What kind of protein shakes are you drinking??
  12. Hello all.... Ok, so I'm on day three of my all liquid diet and im sitting here starving and thinking my question is... post op is it better to buy sugar free or fat free?
  13. Hello, I am actually 9 days smoke free!! Never thought in this world I could do it.. I'm young being 23 but I've been smoking a pack a day since I was 16. I'm on chantix. couldn't of done it with out it. I smoked for the first 8 days on it, then on the 9th day I woke up and decided I just wasn't going to smoke.. The first three days were pretty rough, had bad headaches, but since then, I'm fine. I crave them now just emotionally I guess you would say, but not physically. You should really check into chantix. it's great.
  14. This 6 month thing is killing me!!!! LOL...... My six months will also be up in June, hopefully it won't take long for a surgery date, that being if I get approved:unsure:
  15. As long as you don't go under a 40 BMI, I would say your in the clear... No, I actually gained a pound my last weigh in :frown: I really need to kick it gear.
  16. SO sorry to hear this.... I have UHC and yes, the 6 month diet is required for me. I am on month two. I started my diet before I even seen my surgeon.. I can't believe they didn't tell you that initially! Did your surgeon's office not check your requirements?? My advice is to do the 6 month diet and try for approval. The time does go by pretty quick..

  18. Ok, I lied I thought it had the full menu...but it kinda gives you an overview of what they have so it might give you a little better of an idea...
  19. I never heard of this restaurant before so I googled it.... it has it's full menu online if you wanna take a look at it so you have an idea of what you can order beforehand...
  20. Has anyone tried the believe coffee like drinks from bariatriceating.com ??? Just wondering if they are any good
  21. I can't answer for all insurance companies, but my insurance says you have to have a bmi of 40 or over, or a bmi of 35 or over with two or more comorbidities... such things as hypertension, sleep apnea, diabetes.....ect.
  22. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone orders from bariatricEating.com and if you have tried the BELIEVE coffee based drinks ?????????
  23. Hi Jen.... I hear ya.. I need a change!! I simply did some research of doctors in my area. I called my insurance and found out the requirements... One is that I have to be on a 6 month supervised diet... So I went to a Nurse Practioner, told her that I was wanting lapband and needed to be on a 6 month diet. I then found a surgeon in network and called that office and told them that I was interested in lapband and wanted to have a consultation with the Dr. I went to my consult on the 20th....... He said I was a perfect candidate and that we'd go from there, simply meaning that his office would call me and we would start working on insurance approval.... hope this helps.
