The 17 Day Diet

Has anyone tried the 17 day diet? I'm considering ordering the book, so just curious if anyone has tried it.

DH has ordered the book & DVD. He's not banded (and doesn't really qualify for banding), but wants to lose some. He wants to start it after the first of the year. Bad idea I think, to wait.. but it's his weight loss, not mine. What little I could read of the book online seems sensible. We'll see.

Did you see that on The Doctors?? I was in the audience for that episode!!! I got VIP tickets w/ my family when we visited:) We got that book and the luminess airbrush makeup thing.

No, saw it on Dr. Phil.

Book has arrived, it's OK, but a little lacking IMO. I think I expected more recipes and better layout. Haven't looked at DVD yet.

NOW DH said to me last night "How much do you want me to lose" SHEESH. I told him it wasn't my weight loss, it's his and he can do it when ready, or not at all. This man is so difficult to communicate with.. anytime I talk about something more than 2 minutes he thinks I'm pushing him. Comes from him having a very pushy Mom. You'd think he'd learn after nearly 30 years of marriage that I'm not his mother.. LOL

Anyhoo..

Good point about the book is that it has suggestions on how to modify the cycles for different cultural tastes. Also has suggestions for dealing with PMS on the plan.

Dh and I started today I was banded 7/15 and have lost 40 lbs. I am struggling so thought that this may be a good idea to revamp things. For the general public I would say it is to low calorie but for a band patient it is basically right on,. He had two eggs and a piece of turkey sausage for breakfast (I have morning band so nothing til noon) then I made chicken fajitas and we ate them without the tortilla and fixings. Then again for dinner. Also he drank the green tea, I think it tastes like a@# and refuse to drink it.

But basically lean chicken and turkey and veggies and two fruits at first. We will see.

Good luck if you do it also

My husband wants to order this book. I was wondering if the plan would be good for us bandsters? I struggle eathing many things, but know I need to eat with more structure. I guess we'll just buy it and give it a try.

I saw this 17 day diet on Dr. Phil today. Alot of people seem to be excited about it. I was banded in October, 2010 and have only lost 20 lbs. I am very frustrated. I have to admit I do eat more potatoes and ice cream than I should but was under the impression when I inquired about the bad before being banded that it would limit my intake. I am not hungry and do not eat much and most times nothing at all for breakfast but coffee, lunch I eat moderately and dinner I can eat a plate full of a small size plate (try not to do). Is this normal?
