I was banded! woot!
Congrats, Princess! I have really bad memory issues associated w/ my sleep disorder, so I can't remember when my doctor said I can start on stage 1 baby foods. I am pretty sure he said I could start that tomorrow, but to be on the safe side i'll wait until they open on Tuesday for me to double-check. I do have a ton of baby food stocked up for when I'm ready.

I was banded! woot!
I was banded on Friday, and I've slept a lot. I haven't been able to take my narcolepsy meds, so I slept a lot longer than most people do in recovery. Surprisingly, my shoulder doesn't hurt at all! My back does, however. They made four 1 1/2 inch incisions, and one 1/4 inch incision. I kind of miss being in the hospital, because I was able to have people catering to me. It's very difficult to play with the kids when I'm in pain. ugh. It'll all be worth it though! Doctor says he actually leaves saline in the band during surgery, but I didn't ask him how much I've got. I have been feeling nauseous in the morning.

Surgery tomorrow morning . . . starting to freak
Don't be sorry for the post...I have surgery tomorrow at 7am and I have to be there at 5am. I have Narcolepsy, and people w/ it take a LOT longer to wake up than others...so I'm just worried about that, too. I have two small children, and I have been getting cold feet, too. I will do it, but I think it's normal everyone feels those "what-ifs". Good luck!!

Approved by Cigna today!!
Woohooo!!! I just got a call from my doctor's office and they got the approval fax this morning! I've been a very large, annoying, in-dire-need-of-oil squeeky wheel to Cigna. I submitted on 6/1. We'll set a date tomorrow! Woot woot!! I think I'll have my "last supper" tonight (before I start my pre-op diet). I'm thinking Texas Roadhouse w/ lots of butter and rolls. Oh, and a side of Coldstone Ice cream. Then, I'm turning my back to that junk FOREVER and EVER! Via con dios!

Anyone finishing up their 6 months with Cigna
I submitted to Cigna on Tuesday, and was told a different story by 10 different people whether or not they had the paperwork, and how long it would take. Finally I got fed up w/ getting so many different answers and then I was transferred to a manager. He is having the doctor fax the paperwork directly to him tomorrow and he will hand it to the nurse, and I will have my answer in 2 business days (!!!!). PERSISTENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never, ever ever take the first answer if you're not happy w/ it. Call them out on any discrepencies in their answers and make sure you take down names and extensions and which department they're from. My particular Cigna plan doesn't require pre-certification, but does require pre-determination. :Dancing_biggrin:

Poll- Pg when did you get unfilled?

Cigna 6 month Requirement Qs
I called Cigna myself because I have the exact same situation, and the lady responded "It doesn't exactly say, so just submit it." I'm going to call again later and ask for someone else.

"Pre-Op"...BOY was I wrong!
I had smoked since I was 13, and at 18 I had suspected I was pregnant. I walked into Walmart smoking a cig, bought a pregnancy test, took it in the walmart bathroom, found a big fat positive, and threw all of my cigs away. I haven't touched them since, and that was 5 years ago. I think I was able to do it so easily because I knew that it wasn't just ME I was harming--I was caring for another life. I didn't miss it one bit:( Sorry.

Need help figuring this out, please
Alright, I had my appointment with my PCP and we were able to pull records for the last year or so where we've discussed my obesity, diet and exercise plans. The first two months have a 3 1/2 month gap, and there's one that has a two month gap, otherwise the rest are month-to-month. I have my consultation on Friday and a bunch of other things so I imagine they'll submit insurance on Friday since I do have 6 months worth. I'm crossing my fingers that it'll be enough!!!:scared2:
