wow sarah, sounds like a lot of running around,no matter what surgery you need they seem to make you jump through hoops dont they? How are you going with the band? Are you glad you got it?ive only had mine 4 weeks and because i dont have any Fluid in my band im starting to get hungry ,grrrr, anyway good luck .

Yeah but it was definitely worth it. At the moment I'm doing okay with it I guess, I ate a pork chop one night and didnt really drink anything, went to bed and the next day when I tried to drink it was just severe pain and the docs thought it may have slipped, I went for a barium swallow on the 15th this month and will hopefully get the results soon so I can get filled again as they did a complete unfill.

thanks for your replies!!

i made my appt today

im seeing Peter Nottle on March 12

that would make it 5 months before my insurance kicks in

im so excited :):D

did anyone else see Peter Nottle?

how was the whole process with him?

HI alycejo,

i go to Peter Nottles rooms for my fills, he did my surgury August 08 and now will be doing my review as my band has slipped.

i was just wondering how you go when your there do you have to wait very long as i seem to have to wait each time i go. is this the same for you?

I had my first consultant on Jan 8 2009 and then the surgery on May 25.

I had to wait for my private health insurance to kick over the 12months. So it could of been April 09 however she wasnt free, so May 25 it was!

Straight away.

I've known for 5 years that Ive wanted lap banding, but the process was incredibly quick for me.

The day I called the surgery and asked their price, I went to the doctor to get a reference to him. I saw him the following week. From there he booked me in for the end of the month for surgery. That day I switched health funds so I was covered. 2 days before the surgery, the health fund finally covered me.

So I basically had it all done within 21 days :-)

I'd wanted this more than anything and nothing would've stopped me to get it. I spent all day one day running around between my old health fund and my new one to get me covered for the surgery...I think trying to get it done as soon as possible was the hardest part
