Hi Bandayed, You are using Dr. Schnieder right? You are going to be so thrilled. I am 6 weeks post op now and have not had a single problem. I go for a fill with Dr. Jones in 1.5 weeks. Sit back and enjoy - the hospital staff is wonderfull and that fist sip of CIB on day two is like heaven. Beware of the clear stuff they make you drink before the floroscopy (it is nasty so get it down quick) the barium is yummy compared to the clear stuff. They have a patient solarium that is a nice place to wheel your IV to and do a little reading.

Good luck - update us when you return.

Good luck to all of you tomorrow. Just keep the goal in mind. I am ten weeks out and down 40 pounds. My knees and feet and ankles already feel so much better, and my blood pressure is down to normal. I wish they had had this 20 years ago!

Everyone's pain experience is different. I had about 30 hours of pretty uncomfortable, but that was only for as long as it took me to take a shot of pain medicine! After about three days, it was just being sore for me. My biggest problem was from the gas inside. My back hurt, but I had people who love me rubbing it a lot. And I would do it all again in a heartbeat. It is amazing every day to me that this thing works! I am not even hungry and have to remind myself to eat and get my Protein in.

Good luck, and here's to all those pounds you will lose!

bandayed,

Best wishes and here's to a quick recovery and losing lots o' pounds! I too am having my "last supper" weekend... I get banded on Friday, Oct 28. I'm having the SAME exact feelings you mentioned. Thank you for sharing that, because I needed to know it's not just lil ole me... Sadly enough, I couldn't find one single person to go out to "dinner" with this weekend... so much for eating my last weekend away! :) Keep us posted, ok!

Still scared but getting excited -- angie :D

Good luck you will do fine. By now your on your way to bandland. I'm from the Boston area also. Get plenty of rest but also remember to walk as much

as you can. It helps alot with the gas. I will be thinking of you today.

My thoughts are with you today. My surgery is tomorrow and I feel the same way you describe. We are making the right choice, but I too am afraid of failure. Please keep us posted on your recovery. Shirley

I just read the message about GasX...and the one about baby drops simethicone, which I thought was an excellent idea. I have my first appt. with doc on Nov. 7, but I'm trying to learn as much from you all who have already been through it as I can!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
