Endoscopy??
I completely agree with Skcunningham. This is totally normal. Your doc wants to look at your tummy. You're put out for a grand total of 10-15 minutes and I too did it on a Saturday. It was totally quick and easy-peazy!

Toast a slider?
I totally know what you mean! If I eat fish or chicken I fill up sooooo quick and it just sits in my throat which is so uncomfortable, but if I have toast or Jennie-o Turkey, either ground or the cutlets, it does great in my tummy! Weird!

Surgery Tomorrow...
I was exactly like you. I even posted on here for support because I couldn't stop crying! Your feelings are totally normal, take a nice long walk, have a nice long hot bath and try to relax. Tomorrow at this time, you will be sleeved and your nerves will be so much better. Good luck tomorrow and keep us posted!!! 2 things, make sure you bring chap-stick to the hospital (I used it all the time, it was great) and after surgery my nurses wouldn't let me drink until I had a leak test performed, so just ask to gargle if you get a dry mouth. ***HUGS*** ***HUGS*** you will do great!!!!!!! Cheers - Tiffany

When can I be a junglegym?
I have a 1 yr old and a 4 yr old and I am over 5 weeks out right now. My doctor is a stickler and doesn't want me lifting more than 20 lbs for the first 6 weeks. My 4 yr old knows i had belly surgery and so she doesn't climb on me, but when my 1 yr old wants to play I just sit on the floor with her and then she climbs on me. For the first few weeks I used a pillow over my belly just in case she pushes where she isn't suppose to and that worked out really good.

When can I start going to the gym?
My doctor told me the same thing as Mommy2girls, only walking for the first 6 weeks. I asked about doing yoga or pilates and he said not until I am 6 weeks out. Next Monday is my 6 week marker, I am looking forward to working out!!!

Hospital Bill!!! How freaking insane!!!!!
So I have Aetna and had my surgery on December 27th. I stayed for 2 nights. My deductible and co-insurance has already been paid up so both my surgeries (Sleeve and Tubal Ligation) were covered at 100%. I was just on Aetna's website and you won't believe how much the hospital bill is???? Any guesses???? Just think, this is the hospital bill, not including either one of the surgeons bills! DRUM ROLL PLEASE....................... $94,429.45 now pick your jaw up off the ground!!!! So, let's break down those charges, shall we?? Room-Board/Semi :$3,116.00 Drugs/Detail Cod :$1,131.34 OR Services :$17,052.55 Supply/Implants :$20,063.00 Pharmacy :$2,494.05 IV Solutions :$3,116.41 Sterile Supply :$3,847.00 Sterile Supply :$5,416.00 Sterile Supply :$24,485.00 Med-Sur Supply :$592.00 Anesthesia :$3,298.15 Recovery Room :$3,461.95 Laboratory :$45.10 Pathology Lab :$1,235.35 EKG/ECG :$471.45 DX X-Ray :$986.10 Lab/Urology :$105.65 Lab/Chemistry :$2,311.75 Lab/Immunology :$96.45 Lab/Demotology :$1,104.15 Seeing that the hospital alone charges this is absolutely freaking ridiculous!!!!!!! Now I know they won't get paid the full amount since this will all be discounted because of in-network prices, but come on!!!!!

yoga/pilates?
my doc told me only walking for the first 6 weeks. I asked about pilates and yoga and he told me not until i'm 6 weeks out. Now I know that some people have started working out sooner but I'm gonna play it safe and wait another couple of weeks. Hope this helps - Tiffany

Protein Help PLease!!!
I totally know what you are going through! My tastes have changed since getting my sleeve and so many things make me gag. I have tried dozens of Protein drinks and there is only 1 that I can drink and it doesn't give you a after taste or anything. It's called "Lean Body" and you can get it at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe. It's 17 oz and has 40 grams of protein. Takes me 3 hours to go through one and doesn't have a after taste. I drink the chocolate Ice Cream. http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=ZF-2071 Also, fat-free milk has 8g of protein in each glass. Hope this helps and good luck! - Tiffany
