  1. Are you satying overnight, because if you are outpatient like me, I did not need anything
  2. I'd say the only problem I had, and I'm not sure if it can really bea called a complication is one of my incisions was very mildly infected. It was just superficial though so I treated it myself, didn't want to go back if I didn't have to, with antibiotic cream. Due to the infection it is taking longer to heal than the other ones but is healing well now. But all in all as long as my weight loss picks up after my fill my only regret would be not doing it sooner.
  3. I'm glad you had a good time. I had plans to go skiing next month, I haunt skiied in like 15 years, but another opportunity came up to go to the Bahamas so I chose that instead. I vow to go skiing next year though
  4. My surgeon also said no snacking. Right now at least, most days I don't think I'd be able to get through the day without a snack, or else the wolrd would be hearing the sound of my stomach growling..LOL. I think my nutritionist actually thinks differently though, I think she says a small snack is ok, I am going to check with her when I go on the 22nd. When I asked on the forum about snacking someone told me they probably meant no mindless eating, but if it is planned it is ok. Also without a snack, I do not think I'd be able to get enough calories in for the day. Because if you think about it, 3 oz Protein is maybe 150 calories, 1/2 cup veggies is maybe 30 calories, not sure how much 1/4 cup starch is, but let's say 70, so that is like 250 cal per meal, times 3 is 750 calories, yeah that intake is to low for me. When I use livestrong my iphone app, it says at my weight to lose 2 lbs per week I should be eating around 1470cal. Now I am not sure if I will end up eating that many, so far I have only gotten to 1100, but 750 is just a little more than half of that, yeah, to low. But I can start reg food on Monday, so I will be buying WW string cheese, not sure what else for snacks.
  5. I was curious too. I am getting my first fill on the 25th. I am going away feb 12th. Ive heard of people getting tighter after flying, but I imagine since it is my first one it won't be bad, Im going to ask anyways when I go in
  6. I have a physical job, so I took a week. I probably could have gone back around day 5. If I had a desk job probably day 4.
  7. I'/m with you. Right now I am private about it my immediate family knows obviously, mom, dad, sister, and her fiance. My bosses at work know, one I've been friends with for many years, he was actually the first person I told when I started the process. A girl at work knows, my other supervisor told her which I was originally annoyed at, but she has the lap band too, so I can talk about my issues with her, so it is good. And one friend knows. I think when the weight starts really coming off I may tell other people, but for now it is my thing. A few people have mentioned it looked like I was losing weight and I said yeah, I am watching what I eat.
  8. It is fine. Just I would not scrub at them. In fact 2 weeks post op the glue was falling off the incisions but still on the skin around it, I finally had to use my nail to get it off. So it is pretty strong
  9. I had absolutely no nausea post op. They did put a scopolamine patch on me prior to surgery which may have helpped and I took it off 3 days post op. Though it did mess with my vision
  10. My abdoman (not sure if it is actually my stomach) rumbles every so often. This is a different feeling than my stomach growling which is when I know I am hungry
  11. This is my dr's way Week 1 clear liquid Week 2 full liquids Week 3 mushy/purée Week 4 chopped / ground food meat/ some veggies (non gassy) Week 5 normal food 3oz protein, 1/2 cup veggies +/- 1/4 cup starch if hungry. Can't wait til Monday, I stArt normal foods.... Lol
  12. I have always LOVED chicken caesar salads. Yes, I know, not the healthiest salad. I have been craving one for a couple weeks now. Next week I can eat whatever (you know the 3 oz protein, 1/2 cup veggies, and poss 1/4 cup starch) I may wait another week, not sure before I try a salad. I go for my first fill on the 25th. But I figure if I make sure to eat the chicken first I can have some of the salad, I hope.
  13. I think you are eating to low of calories. I had sx the 20th and I had been eating 600-700 calories last week and going to the gym. I stalled at a week out. I think the combination of the two, eating so low calories and trying to work out) is what did it. I upped my calories and skipped the gym this week and the scale has since moved. Yesterday I managed to eat 1100 calories and so I am going to go to the gym today. Unfortunately I ate a bunch of the calories at night and I think I found out what happens when I over eat, I started having back pains for no other reason (I had been watching TV), so I figure it was from eating to much and not listening to myself. So I will try to spread out the calories more today. So, yes I believe if you are stalled, definitely try to up your calories. My goal is to get to at least 1200 calories per day. Be easier next week when I can start eatin normally, the 3 oz Protein, 1/2 cup veggies and maybe 1/4 cup starch
  14. Don't worry, I lost the first week too and the stalled. I think since I am starting to eat more calories now weight loss is starting again, so don't worry
  15. I really like the Unjury brand shakes, you can only get them online. I have the myoplex lite in my fridge and even though they were good, I liked the unjury better, so it looks like those may end up in the garbage as I am past liquids and my dr. doesn't want me having liquid calories.
  16. Today I had B. 1/2 cup egg beaters, one turkey breakfast sausage S. 10 quakes ranch flavor (mini rice cakes) L. 3 oz lean ground beef 93% with sauce and parmesan cheese D. 3 oz turkey with gravy Probable snack fudgsicle
  17. I have been going to the gym (was before surgery too). I haven't lost anything I 2 weeks. I think it is because I am only eating less than 1000 calories, usually 700-800 calories a day. I am kind of thinking of taking this week off of the gym, or only going 1 or 2 times and seeing if I lose. Next week I can eat normally so hoping I can get up to at least 1200 calories and be able to lose. I have been burning about 400 calories per workout, but will be increasing that because I cam go back to the weight machines now. I did workout for an hour today, shoveling snow...lol
  18. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! That is a great feat!
  19. 29 degrees here in Islip, NY. Just dug my car out of about a foot of snow. Took about an hour.
  20. I've been going to Lucille Roberts for years. Decent gym, it is only for women. Usually not to crowded, but I think their locations are only in a few states
  21. If you don't really care what brand, I've found jeans for $10-$20 at marshals or Tj maxx
  22. Yesterday I ate B. 1/2 cup egg beaters L. Chopped up turkey with ff gravy Unsweetened applesauce D. 3 oz ground beef 93% lean with sauce Sf fudge Popsicle I'm only allowed to eat ground/chopped meat right now and no more than 3/4 cup
  23. I'd say congrats to this. I'd love to be one of the few that cam go without fills even if it were for a while. I'm on week 3 post op and feel good about what I am eating, but the problem is I am not losing weight. Even though like yesterday I ate 800 calories
  24. It took me probably 5 or 6 days to get up to 68 oz.
