  1. Lol, may not work as well for me, I'm a LVT who works in a veterinary hospital
  2. When people bring junk food into work, I seem to lose all willpower. Even if I eat it and my stomach says no. I obviously keep all junk out of the house for those reasons. But if is put in front of me I have problems. Today there were cookies at work and i had more than i should have. Only thing good is i went to kickboxing after work, so hopefully i burned it off. Anyone have advice?
  3. I drank the unjury protein shakes the chocolate and vanilla. Never tried the other flavors
  4. As for the pain, it seems everyone is different. I was off the pain meds by day 3. The first day was the worst (obviously). After day 3 I was still sore when getting out of bed and such, but it was minimal. I went out on day 4, I did start to feel a tiny bit nauseaus after a few hours. By day 5 I was getting bored at home and I went back to work on day 7. Even though I had to dig my car out from under over a foot of snow
  5. I take advil. Before people say you can't take ibuprofen, I checked with my drs PA and she said as long as you don't take it on a regular basis it is fine. I don't have any fill and I can swallow any pill. For TOM I usually take midol.
  6. I use a polar heart rate monitor. I forget which model. I find it works well. As someone else said online calculators are not accurate. Interesting there is a sign at the gym that says how many calories an acitivory burns and compadres to my polar it is extremely inaccurate. I've been considering the bodybugg or bodymedia fit, but don't like the price of it
  7. Once you continue with the workouts it will get better. I've been going to the gym and doing cardio for years, but when I added in the weight machines I was so site, it has gotten a lot better. Also the first time I went kickboxing I was so sore, now that I've done it a few more times it is much better. Just have to push through it

I do need to do the measurements, though I never feel like I am going in the right spots. After my first week of kickboxing and the gym. I guess since I increased my activity and started the kickboxing unfortunately the scale did not move. I know it is because I increased the activity and not that I ate to much though. Hopefully my body will get out of the shock of it hen I weigh next week and I will see it move. Though my friend who got me into it and I go with sometimes, said I look a little smaller (she does not know I have a lap band, just that I've been dieting and exercising). So maybe I have lost inches. They do ab workouts at the end and I've come to realize my abs suck! LOL I know it will take time, but I can't hold the position for that long, or do good pushups or anything. I am trying though, so I should get better. I had a great kickboxing class this morning and I plan to go to they gym later for cardio and such.
  9. I am 10 weeks put or so. I haven't had the left shoulder pain in quite some time. Yesterday I made a mistake at work and I was really upset about it and stressed out. All the sudden my left shoulder started bothering me. It felt like the same kind of pain/irritation that I had post op from the gas. After I stopped worrying the pain went away. I was just curious if anyone else had the shoulder pain cone back from stress?
  10. External sutures are usually removed about 10-14 days post op. Usually they won't use dissolvable sutures in the skin. At least this is true in animals. I was closed with dermabond, so I can't say for sure
  11. At 13 days out, I was just finishing my week on liquids and I was only getting like 600 calories. I did not get up to 1200 until I got to solids at week 5 and even now I don't always get to 1200, which I need to work on because I've increased my workputs
  12. I was able to sleep on my side the day of surgery and I thunk a couple days later I was sleeping mostly on my stomach. For the first couple of weeks I was most comfortable on my left side/stomach, now I am most comftorble on my right
  13. I'm not sure if there is one thing that has been the hardest to give up, because I don't truly deprive myself of things, I just limit it. But I do miss a chicken quesadillia from taco bell and the pizza hut personal pizza. I would love to have them but after looking at the nutrition info, it is not worth it. I always thought my diet coke would be difficult to give up, but it wasn't. I did try some a little bit ago and OT honestly didn't taste that good anymore
  14. Blah, as I expected no loss for me this week. I am very disappointed, but I know it is because I've increased my exercise and added in kickboxing which may be bulding muscle.
  15. Thanks Dave that does help me. It sounds like it would help me a lot. I am going to go price searching and see if I can find the cheapest price and may get it.
  16. I've been averaging 1 lb per week, I am trying to kick it up, and last week I managed 1.4 and I was happy. Ive increased my exercise and started kickboxing, so I hope it comes off quicker. I get so jealous when I see people say they're down 2-5 lbs in 1 week, but I know everyone is different
  17. My mom had tried nutrisystem years ago and said their food was disgusting. Originally I said I was going to follow Weight Watcher after my band, but then since I wouldn't be able to eat as much points as they would recommend for my weight, I decided to just count calories.
  18. 35# since feb 10th? Hell of a lot more than me! I wad banded 12/20 and have only lost 17#, ticker says 26 but 9# was pre op diet. I would be thrilled with your results
  19. My dr had recommended miralax to me when I originally went las year and told her I was chronically constipated. So I take that 5 days a week and I take fiber gummies. I also usually eat a fiber one bar a day. Helps me greatly. I usually buy the generic miralax as it is obviously cheaper.
  20. I osted in the bodybugg thread in the fitness forum, but it's been a few days and no one has responded. Does anyone have one of these? Is it worth it? Does it tell you if you need to eat more to lose weight, or what? Do you wear it under your sleeve? If I got one I would not want people to see it at work and stuff. I currently have a Polar heart rate monitor that I wear when I go to the gym and kickboxing, but maybe it would be cool to see how much I burn the rtest of the day, since I have a physical job. Any info would be greatly appreciated
  21. I don't weigh in til tomorrow, buy I am thinking I will have no loss this week, I upped my excersize and started kickboxing, so I think it was abut much, hopefully building muscle. We will see in the am.

Just letting you guys know I did end up signing up. I've been there 3 times this week. Had a great workout there this am. I do thing between the kickboxing and gym I kind of overdid it the week and the scale is not going to show a loss. Hopefully it will move next week. Kind of upsetting to me, but it will even out eventually. After all I went to kickboxing 3 days and the gym 4 (5 if I do this evening) days this week (I weigh on tuesday) which is more than I had been exercising.
  23. That seems drastic, especially for someone 5'11". I am only 5'2" and I would not drop my calories down that low
  24. I've heard about this. I currently have a polar heart rate monitor which shows actual calories burned, I use it when I work out. Is this better? Someone said they spent $300? Is that really how much it is?
  25. I am no doctor, but I dont see how it is possible. Also 42cc in a 14 cc band? I'm unless there is something wrong with the band, there is no way. Unless there is a leak. You say he gets negative pressure? So he draws back and emptied the band completely, got negative pressure, then gave you 42cc? Like I said then there has to be something wrong with the band itself, like for some reason it is made of super stretchy material. I do not see how tour gall bladder can effect that. Also you put to much saline in it and it is bound to explode. For example reconstituting a bottle of iv meds at work, bottle holds 10cc, try to put more than that in or don't get the air out, OT is going to be really hard to get in there and if you do, either the bottle will explode or the top will shoot off.
