  1. Yes you can. I eat tacos sometimes. The crunchy ones go down better, but I can eat the soft shelled ones sometimes. I love tacos! If you get like me after you get banded, food just won't taste the same. It's weird. Good luck on your journey.
  2. Where do you get the Vitafusion gummies? I don't recall seeing them at Walmart when I checked last weekend. Thanks!
  3. I'm so glad you brought this up. I have been having a lot of troubles going to the restroom. About two weeks ago, I went a week in between having a bm. I finally took some milk of magnesia, but I am wanting something to take to help me get regular. I have been mixing Metamucil in with my tea twice a day, but it doesn't seem to be working. I have been doing this for about a week or a little longer so I guess it takes time.
  4. Thank you. I tried replying to your last message you sent, but it wouldn't let me for some reason. I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you or anything. I had surgery on Feb. 8 of this year. I'm down about 75 pounds. I want to get somewhere between 150-160. Then I guess I need to firm up. LOL. My skin has done pretty well so far.
  5. I don't count calories. I usually go on how much I can eat at a certain meal. Lately it has been maybe 10 bites of food.
  6. I'm 24 so I think my age/metabolism or whatever is helping me lose the weight. I hope I will be able to eat certain foods again in the future, but it's not a big deal because stuff just doesn't taste good anymore.
  7. I'm afraid I will hit a roadblock before I get to goal. It hasn't come yet and maybe it won't. I'm not going to lie. I haven't been the best patient in regards to eating right and exercising, but I have lost consistently. I honestly don't know how I have lost weight like I have. I just cannot eat a lot of anything except popcorn. It seems I can eat all that I want. The other day I went shopping with my mother. I didn't eat Breakfast at all. At about 11:30, we went to Cracker Barrel. I just got two side order of veggies. I maybe ate half a cup or a little more. I ate something for supper, but food just doesn't taste good to me anymore. I don't know what it is.
  8. I think I am a little tight now, but I may get some taken out because sometimes I do have problems eating. Are you able to eat different things now since you are in the maintenance stage?
  9. About all the clothes in my closet are too big. I have only bought a few new items that fit because I figure I will be going down in sizes before long. I do know, however, what I will be doing the 10 days I am off for Christmas and New Year. Cleaning out the closet!
  10. I am wandering what happens once you reach your goal weight? Do they take some Fluid out so you can eat a little more to help maintain weight or how does it work? I am curious because I like maybe 25 pounds from being at goal weight. Currently, I can only eat maybe 5-10 bites of food before I am full, which is helping me lose the weight. I am just curious as to what happens. Thanks so much!
  11. I think it took me about 2 weeks. My port still hurts sometimes to this day, and I have been banded since Feb. Hopefully that will get better, but you should feel better in a week or two.
  12. I am wandering what everyone here does once you have a stuck episode. Do you make yourself throw up? Or do you wait it out? I tried waiting it out a few times I have gotten stuck, and it is really painful and took forever to go down. I now opt to make it come back up. I know this isn't good to do, but it makes it feel better instantly. Just curious what everyone does.
  13. I was thinking the exact same thing this morning. I have mucus in my chest from a sinus infection I guess, and I have been coughing and hacking trying to get it out. I don't think it is anything to worry about because it is unlikely this will cause a slippage.
  14. I used to drink while eating before I got tighter, but you literally will not be able to once you get tight. I would die if I drank something while eating now.
  15. I'm having the same issue. I had a few blackheads in high school and never really any problems. The past month or two, I have be breaking out a lot more. I'm starting to think it is hormones or something. I use an acne wash, but they still come back. They are painful. I would love some ideas as well.
  16. Wow. That seems a little extreme to me. If I couldn't eat hamburger meat or pork, I wouldn't hardly be eating anything. I love chicken but it can get old. I am a picky eater. I don't like seafood or tofu or stuff like that. Luckily my doctor doesn't ask me what I eat.
  17. Good luck on your surgery. You will do great. My orders was full liquids for about 2 weeks. Then mushie for 1 week. Then soft foods for one week, and then slowly graduating to heavier foods. My doctor didn't require a pre-op diet except for clear liquids the day before the surgery. I wasn't hungry until I started eating soft foods. I got full on a Protein shake. It's not bad.
  18. My previous fills have been the same way. I may be getting close to restriction though so we will see. What does everyone eat for lunch? I have been eating basically the same thing, but it doesn't always have enough Protein.
  19. I have been banded since Feb., but I have been having trouble figuring out what to eat for lunch and supper (on the nights I don't cook). I will tell you that I don't like tuna, cottage cheese, and things like that. I'm kinda a picky eater so I don't like a lot of foods. I sometimes eat leftovers, but that sometimes doesn't go down easy. So what is a typical lunch like? I get to go home every day for lunch so that helps as well.
  20. He does recommend two days on liquids. I have to be honest that after the previous fills, I was eating real food within a day. I'm not going to attempt that this time.
  21. I was banded in Feb. I have been to the doctor at least once a month since then, and I have gotten a fill every time. I'm up to like 7 or 8 fills. Does your doctor not do this?
  22. I went for a fill yesterday, and my doctor put in half a cc. I drank some Water right after, and it seemed to go down even though it did gurgle. I did a Protein shake last night for supper, and it seemed to go down fine. This morning was a different story with the Protein Shake. It was somewhat uncomfortable drinking that this morning. I think it took me a good 30 minutes to get the whole 11 oz. down. Am I too tight or should it calm down in the next few days? I have had like 7 or 8 fills, and this is the first time it felt tight in the morning. Usually I can eat my Protein Bar first thing in the morning without any problems. Also, I am needing help with what to eat for lunch, and what to eat for supper if I happen to not cook that night?
  23. Also, I don't know if this is important, but I have had like 7 fills so far. I think this was only the third claim report my insurance company sent me, so are they not billing my insurance every time?
  24. Yes, the overall surgery and hospital stay total like $11,500. The hospital got about $7,000 of that, and the doctor got $3,000. I'm not sure what the rest went towards. I believe I received something stating that the fills were included in the first year, but it has been a little while so I will have to check for sure.
  25. It says surgery on the claim report. Also, it was $3,000 not $30,000. If it were $30,000 I would be even more irritated. I did call the office this morning, and the lady got a little perturbed with me. I guess I didn't like her tone so I got a little ill with her. I asked her 3 or 4 times if he was getting paid twice. She said no he is not, but why is he getting the $54? She said the $3000 was the price of the surgery, and that he included the fills for a year as a courtesy.
