How long does it take to eat a 'regular' meal?
How in the world are ya'll getting in all your protein/nutrients if ya'll are eating 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of food? That is not a lot of food. I don't want to drink my calories. Are ya'll drinking your calories?

Wow. You are doing great with your weight loss. Thank you for the help.

disappointed this week
Yep. I've stalled as well. I was banded on Feb. 8, and I've lost 21 pounds. I lost 10 lbs. the first week, 5 lbs. 2nd and 3rd week, and last week 1 pound. It does slow, and I too was a little disappointed, but this time is for healing not losing weight.

sore port?
My port area is still a little sore/tender, and I am 4 1/2 weeks removed from surgery. Mine is kinda under my breast so that may be why.

Special k drinks
I do like them, but they have like 18g of sugar. You might want to watch out for that.

How long does it take to eat a 'regular' meal?
I thought you could eat 1 cup of food per meal? 1 cup is 8 oz. so were suppose to eat a little over half a cup of food instead of 1 cup? The paperwork my doctor gave me said 1 cup of food per meal.

Does anyone still eat hamburger?
Lord, I hope chicken and hamburger sit well with me b/c I'm a picky eater, and that is about all I eat. I don't like steak just hamburger meat so hopefully my stomach will be able to handle it.

This is gross I know - Pooping Issues
That does sound like me! I usually went evey 3rd day as well. I know before surgery when I could eat my Cereal, the Splenda would make me go (sometimes). I heard coffee will make you go, but I don't like it. Also, I didn't use the bathroom for over a week after surgery. Then it was diarrhea on the liquid stage, and now this.

This is gross I know - Pooping Issues
I do still have my gallbladder. I will try taking a stool softener, but I just didn't think anything about it b/c I wasn't regular before surgery. I heard drinking water helps, and I've been getting close to 64 oz. a day during the week when I'm at work. It is harder to do on the weekend for some reason.

This is gross I know - Pooping Issues
I have an appointment next week to get my fill. I will ask him when I go. Thank you everybody. I know it is the weirdest thing. I guess I'm so stopped up when I do go that it makes me sick.

This is gross I know - Pooping Issues
Sorry to be so gross, but I am having a rough time with using the bathroom. I was banded on Feb. 8. I used the bathroom about a week later (diarrhea). I had diarrhea again a few days later. Then I didn't use the bathroom for about a week and a half. When I finally did use it. I was on the toilet 6 times within an hour and a half, and I think I pooped out all my insides or if felt like it. My stomach hurt so bad. I felt like I was going to die. It even made me throw up. I felt awful afterwards that I had to go home for the rest of the day. Well that was the last time I used the bathroom until today. The same thing happened. I was on the toilet for an hour. Like I said it was very painful, and I threw up my Breakfast this time as well. I get so weak after this, and I had to miss work today as well b/c I felt so bad afterward. I turn white as a ghost. I don't know what in the world is happening. I never used the bathroom regularly before surgery, but this feels like I am dying. I guess my body is still getting used to everything since it has only been 4 weeks and 1 day, but this is horrible. Did anyone have any pooping issues like this? Sorry again for being so gross, but I don't know what is happening!

How to get enough protein in?
Do you drink these as Snacks? My doctor said no snacks (well on the sheets of paper he gave me when I first went). I will need to ask next week b/c he didn't tell me that specifically.

How to get enough protein in?
Do they have these unflavored? I noticed they don't have as many flavors as Crystal Light.

How to get enough protein in?
Thank you!

how big of bites do you take?
Ditto. I'm the same way. I guess it will get harder when I am at restriction.

How to get enough protein in?
I am transitioning to solid foods this week, and I cannot seem to get all my Protein in. Today I've had 920 cal. and 49 grams of protein. I have not had a fill yet, and I don't know how my protein intake is going to increase. My doctor only wants us to eat 3 meals a day with no Snacks. How in the world can you get all the protein in when you can only eat 1 cup of food at a meal, and you cannot have snacks? I'm going to ask my doctor when I go get my first fill next week, but thought I would ask here as well.

Aftering being banded, how much weight did you loose until the first fill??
The first week after sugery , I lost 10 pounds. The second week, it was 5 pounds. The third week, it was 5 pounds. This past week, 1 pound. So I have lost 21 pounds since Feb. 8, 2010. I didn't have to do a pre-op diet so I didn't lose any there. I know I didn't "eat" near enough on my two weeks of liquids. It started to slow last week when I could eat soft foods. I figured it would, but I was enjoying losing that much weight in one month. I was hoping it would continue, but I guess not . I could also tell that I'm able to eat more this past week than I probably should.

Heartburn
I had heartburn before I had surgery. I just started having it again since I started eating soft foods. I don't know what it is.

Why I'm considering a lawsuit...
People sue over ANYTHING these days. You are not doing what you need to be doing. It ain't the doctor's fault! I'm self-pay, but the first year's fills were included in the fee for the surgeon. I can get up to ten "free" I believe. Then it is $150 after that.

Loss off appetite - normal?
I was banded on Feb. 8, I didn't hardly eat anything the first 2 1/2 weeks b/c I didn't feel like eating. When I started eating soft food this week, my appetite has returned! I feel like I can eat anything. It stinks!

Does B-12 really give you energy? I need Energy.
I know a deficiency of B-12 can actually hinder weight loss. My mother has been taking liquid B-12 for almost a year.

How much weight did you lose in the first 4 months
I was banded three and a half weeks ago, and I have already lost 20 pounds. You can do!

Protein Shots
I tried one from Wal-Mart (can't remember the brand), but they had a strange taste to them. Do these have a weird taste to them?
