  1. Hope it all goes well. Good luck!!
  2. Honestly I know it's probably hard not to have the support but I would do it anyway. This is your choice and it's something that you want to do. Once you get some weight off you will be motivated to get more and more. Granted you might struggle at times but as long as you keep a positive outlook and follow your doctors direction you should do well. Good luck with everything!!
  3. I had to do a stress test as well, it was on a treadmill and lasted about 5-10 minutes it wasn't that hard. Good luck!!
  4. I lost about 8 pounds on mine BUT it wasn't a full 2 weeks. Like an above poster said don't get caught up on what other people have lost because honestly everyone is different. Good luck and 14lbs is AWESOME!!!
  5. Hmmm 30 something men Uh?!?! I think I may stick around this thread a little longer When I went for my support group meetings there were a couple of men also the other patient that my surgeon operated on that day was a male so it was me and him in recovery. I'm just thinking guys don't necessarily post about it on here as much. Good luck to all of you guys!!
  6. Absolutely amazing!! Congrats!!!
  7. Hey all!! Hope everyone is doing well. I went for my 6 weeks post op visit yesterday and all is well. I thought I may be getting a fill but I didn't because I told her I was going on vacation in a week and a little nervous about having one done before hand and she agreed. So we scheduled my first fill for May 11th!! I was nervous about getting one then going away simply because I won't be within 15 minutes of my surgeon if something went wrong. I also seen my nutritionist yesterday and she gave me some good tips on still eating healthy in Disney! I'm also hoping that this will be my first vacation that I go on and actually lose weight (lots of walking, lots of sweating AND eating healthy). I have not gone clothes shopping yet but will be going tomorrow and for once I'm actually excited about it. Glad to hear everyone is doing well and some are even onto their 2nd fill, congrats!!! Talk to you all soon!!!
  8. Might want to go to the dentist and see what they say. Could be something with your stomach as well.
  9. So sorry it had to come to them removing the band but I do wish you lots of luck with keeping up with the weight loss!!! You can do it, but if not at least you'll have options.
  10. The gas pain is the worst part but it will move out soon. Keep walking and sip liquids.
  11. Good luck and congrats!!!
  12. Amazing pictures!! You look great and congrats!!!
  13. I think it's great that you both did it! You'll give each other great support. Congrats to both of you!!!
  14. I was up within 2 hours! Hope everything went well.
  15. It depends on your doctors and or your insurance company. Everyone's journey is different honestly.
  16. First off congrats on getting a surgery date!! Late June will be here before you know it, you should be excited BUT I know how it feels and I get why you're nervous. My advice for you would be to stay away from the bad stories as much as you can because all it will do is discourage you. Read about the positive stories, look for people who have lost over 100 pounds, look for the people who are succeeding at it and ask them questions. You need to keep your chin up and keep a positive attitude before and after you are banded. Good luck with anything and if you have any questions, let me know!
  17. So sorry to hear about the band removal but glad they caught the infection!! Good luck with everything and speedy recovery.
  18. You're fine, it's normal. I was still swollen about a week later. Try to stay on your doctors orders though about what you should eat. Congrats btw!!!
  19. Congrats!! Glad to hear you weren't in a lot of pain. I woke up in fear cause I thought I'd be crying in pain but was pleasantly surprised to just be sore and have some gas pain. I too was up and walking within hours in recovery.
  20. I wont lie, it's not the easiest thing in the world since most people are used to drinking and eating. In the beginning I slipped up quite a few times but didn't even realize it until I was in mid sip. When I'm setting the table I don't put a glass at my spot just so it helps, the tricky part is doing it at a restaurant.....
