  1. GOOD FOR YOU..i have also discovered ZUMBA... it is great but unfortunally the one class i can attend is so packed that i can bearly move my A** without bumping someone...to close for comfort. So i got the ZUmba DVDs and its fun. And i kinda feel a sence of pride since Beto the creator of this Zumba revolution is from my home country ;-)

It is great that you are starting to live your dream and that your MOJO is coming back. Enjoy every minute of it!!

I am about 35 lbs away from onederland!! i want o to get there so bad.

    GOOD LUCK!

  2. So glad to see there are others that are loosing slowly..... I have not been 100% perfect with the LB. But i am greatful for the 50lb loss so far. I have been stuck at the same weight since Oct. I think mainly vecause the winter was rough and getting to the gym was just to much. Oh and i am also a salty-crunchy person...but sweets do call my name and i see myself eating ice cream and stuff i would not really have touvhed before the band.

Anyways hope you get to goal soon.... I have another 50 lb to get to my ultimate goal. But for this year i would be happy with just moving the scale down 10-15 lbs.

    Take care

  3. Great post!

I have been stuck at 235lbs since October...this winter was hard to even get out to the gym and i did snack alot ...alot. So i guess i shold be thankfull i maintained. I also started at 280+lbs and i am happy to see that i am half way to may goal.

For this year i would like to reach 199 lbs on the scale....or even 219 sound good too.

How did your trip to India go?

I imagine that by now you have been wearing those tight jeans and you are now shopping at Old Navy..Im still a size 18-20 so Lane B is still my place.

    hope all is well

  4. My Goal for this year is to get to onederland!! 35lbs to go... i have the same issue with snacking...i have realized i am a cruchy carb addict and that has been the hardest. My husband is supposrtive but at the same time there are alot of temptations when he gets the munchies..

that BBQ looks great!! are those stuffed peppers?

OUr snow is now gone, so i will be using the grill soon too

    great job!!

  5. chin UP!! you will get there. Its better to take care of this problem now Since after surgery our bodies go through some shack and the blood work gets really wacky. I have been banded for almost 1 1/2 year and i still have low Vit D and Calcium...not to mention the huge hair loss that i am still recovering from.

I take a one a day Vit pluss, chewable calcium and Vit D. It helps with enery to chase my 3 young kids.

    Good luck

  6. to thin?? what!??! my goal is to feel good in a pair of jeans..whether they are a size 14 or 8 it doenst matter i just wnat to feel GOOD!!

I am at a size 18 and still 50lbs from my main goal. I love crunchy carbs and that is my weakness...so i am trying to stay away from them.

My scale has not moved in the last 4 months...but i know if i focus it will start going down. I just need to do the work.

    Have a great day!

  7. my husband it worried about my breast shrinking..i could care less.. he has even mentioned that once i get to goal we should start saving up for a boob job. that just makes me laugh since there are so many other things to save for.

I dont think i will ever loose my backside and hips ( latina ) ..if i am ever to get cosmetic surgery it will be to get a tummy tuck and a breast lift... afte having 3 kids that is what i NEED.

    Good luck!

  8. wow...i get those moods. I am a mother of 3, stay at home mom..work 16 hours on weekends and it seems like the work never stops. All my good friends are out of state and family is far too. I rely on my husband alot... I think you should let your husband know what is going on inside you. It seems to be eating you up and the guilt of not wanting to do what you "think you should " be doing is making it worse.

I also have times when i open my eyes in t he morning and just want to stay in bed and let my responsabilities fly away. BUt we know it can ot be done. I have 3 little ones that depend on me...i joke to my husband that i want a "day off..or a vacation"...and by thid i mean with no kids no husband. It has not happend yet, but i do get out of the house once ia week for a 3-4 hours and just do nothing. Its a beggining.

I suggest you get help... Talk to your Dr? talk to your husband?.. just get it out.

  9. that is a lot on your plate!!!

You seem very determined and that i believe is what will get you to your Goal!

My mom and are very close, i know she want me to get to a healthy weight so that i can be around for my 3 kids...she is a huge support and i cannot imagine loosing her.

    BEst of LUCK!!!!!!

  10. wow..i kinda have the same problem.... i can basically eat anything. But it depends if i am stressed or something. One day i can eat rice, chicken, ham.... the next it will get me stuck for about 20- 30 min and then comes the spitting up. One thing i am sure of is that i cannot sit to eat with my kids..i guess they stress me out with all the mess.

I try hard not to vomit, i focus on my breathing and visualize what is going on in side me and "tell my band to open up"...lol i know it sound crazy!

Unfortunally i have figured out how to sabotage my self with eating small snacks between meals...that is why the scale has not moves down since NOv.

I have had over 6 fills...and jsut now i can feel some restriction I told myself i will not go back for a fill till i get myself unde control and on track.

    Good luck!!

  11. Funny..i was thinking also of joining WW in Jan but thought about it and what i REALLY need to do is stop eating so much.... it seems every time my boys ask for a snack or a drink i nend up having a snack with them ( boys are 4yrs and have bottomless appetite).

I step on the scale on Tues mornings and post on my kitchen cabinet..that way i can see it everytime i open it for a snack ;-)

YOu are doing great... My ultimalte goal is to be under 200lbs...even if it 198lbs. Or fit into a size 14 jeans. Right now i am 253 , i go to the gym 2-3 time a week and i have had over 5 fills and have a little restriction. What is my Problem?? I sabotage myself with snack during the day..

    you are doing great!!!

  12. Dito!!! this Sept it will be 2 years and i have managed to loose 50lbs...but int he last 5-6 months i have been basically maintaining the weight. This is not where i want to be. BUT i do have to say that after 6-8 fills (lost count) i can still eat. I get stuck if i dont watch it.

My ULTIMATE goal is to loose a total of 100lbs OR fit comfortably in a size 14 jean..which ever comes first. This may take more time than the averege lapbander, but i have to keep telling myself "it took me 10 years to put on 100 lbs...so what if it takes 3-5 years to take it off""

I also have to confess that there i days when i sabotage myself...as everyone knows if you graise on small snacks doing the day the Band will take it in... so even if i am working out at the YMCA 2-3 times a week and keeping busy with my 3 small kids I am taking in well over the calories i need.

I have big plans for the spring...to get back on track and to trick my body into loosing inches. I plan to do cardio but also weights and switch it up alot.

Good luck in yout journey...just remember that one pond gone is a blessing!!

  13. get off the SCALE!! get it out of your sight....

I have been banded for 17 months and have lost 50lbs... most of it int he first 11 months. I have had 7 fills and just know i am feeling restriction. It comes and goes so i have to be carefull. i KNOW i still eat to much.... not when i sit down at a meal but during the day when my kids are constantly askinf for snacks..i have them too.

I do not blame the Band for the lack of weight loss since Oct 2010. I have not worked out as much as i should and i have chosen food that will pass easily.

I weigh myslef once a week (tues) and then i put it away...I also guide myself more with how my clothes fit me. My goal is to be a comfortable size 14... I am now a tight size 18. I am realistic about my body. it did take me 10 years to gain 100 lbs, why should i expect to loose it in less that 2-3 years!

Good luck and just take it easy..we will all get there!!

  14. this makes me sad... but it is also so familiar.. " you care the weight well" and my daughter putting her hand on my belly and asking " if i am going to have twins again??" OUCH!!

Chin up..you are here now doing something about it!!! I have been fortunate to have the support of my family and specially my Husband that always tells me i am beautifull and sexy to him.

I have been banded since sept 2009 and have only lost 50 lbs from the 100 lbs i need to loose. I cannot blame it on the band failing...it more like me failing myself by slaking off on the work out and eating here and there.

Anywyas, I wish you luck and i hope you get what you want.

  15. i know what you mean... it has been 16 months witht he band andi have lost about 50lbs... but in the last 4 months the scale has not gone down. I have had 7 fill and i have 9CC in a 12CC band and i dont really have much restriction. Ofcourse unless i eat a big piece of meat, or get to hungry and take a huge bite.

Anyways, dont get down on yourself. This is what i tell myself " it took me 10 years to gain 100 lbs, it is OK if it takes me 2-3 years to loose it""

I do know my family and friends were expecting a new me by now...but none of them have been obese...so they "dont know"

My new goal for this year is to loose 20- 30lbs by sept...but first i know i have to get back to the gym and stop gracing food all day.

    Best of luck!!!

  16. i have moments like that too... but i go to bed and tell myself tomorrow i start fresh!! I have not lost the weight i thought i would by now. It has been over 1 year and i had planned to surprise my extended family by loosing over 100 lbs...well so far i have lost 50lbs and the scale has not moved for over 2 months... Fustrating-- YES...is it going to break me--- NO!!!

Do what you do for yourself!!..family will never understand how hard it is, and yeah people will come and tell us how great you look..bla bla bla. I just say thatnk you and its a work in progress.

    Night night

  17. congrats on the weight loss!! that is a huge number.. Be proud.

I had my surgery on sept 2009 and lost 40 lbs in the first 9 months...since then i have be struggling to loose. SO far i have lost about 50lbs and have another 50 lbs to go.

I keep reminging mysepf that it took me 10 years to gain 100 lbs, it is ok if it takes me 2 or 3 years to loose it.

You do seem tight, i still am looing for my sweetspot..i can eat way to much but then all of a sudden BAM!!! restriction comes when i least expected. Try getting lots of protein in and good look with getting back started.

    Take care

  18. DITO!! my husband forgets as he is making pancakes and sausage yesterday morning and he gets a little hurt when i tell him i can have one link and maybe nibble on a small piece of pancake.. He never cooks so thinks that i should eat it... It also happens when he get cravings and want me to join him in a little latenight snack...

He has lost some weight and i want him to keep it off...but he needs to realize that i have stay away from my "crunchy carbs" as much as i can...since the next day im getting up before everyone else and going to the gym to burn off the little snack i had that night.

    I hope he gets it!!

  19. I can understand where you are coming from.

For me it has been 14 months post op and i have only lost 52 lbs. But i do have to concider that after 7 fills i am just starting to feel restriction and having food get stuck. Unfortunaly i am not eating well, I am having my 4 meals plus snacks.... and in the last 2 weeks since Halloween i have been going crazy with my kids chocolate goodies!! Bad really BAd!!

I have back problems so for a low impact woorkout i get on the elliptical, it burns about 30% more calories that the treadmill.

Anyways, keep up the good work. I also need to loose 50 lbs and it would be great if i could before my 2 year anniv.

Let us know hoe the Laser goes

  20. i cant say it will work for you...but I had a fill 2 weeks ago and my scale had not moved in over 2 months. I was eating less and working out (elliptical) 3 times a week for 1 hour.

I stopped going to the gym for 3 weeks because of back pain...and to my surprise the scale started moving down. I have lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks...i do plan on going back to the gym...i just think sometimes my body needs a change in the routine... another thing i noticed was that when i work out i am HUNGRY and tend to eat more...

    Anyways, keep your chin up!!!
