  1. I have never counted calories since banding. Its all about the OZ's you consume and getting good protien..............while increaseing physical activity
  2. No, my first four months after banding and 52lbs weightloss was without the benefit of fills. My Dr 's and I agreed was to wait it out as long as the weight continued to come off. Sometimes he explained the pressure from just the placement of the band causes that fullness feeling( every bander is different) After 6 months I had my first fill and have continued with 3+ and 6cc today. I am at a good spot now with good restriction and the weight loss continues. RELAX.............trust your Doc
  3. Your friend is probally worried about long term sucess of gastric bypass. There is a high rate of death attributed to malasorbtion in bypass patients. I d like to bet that eventually gastric bypass will no longer be done because of such seriuos issues

I am still working slowing and not giving in to my old ways. I am 11 lbs away from ONEDERLAND !!!!!!!!!!!! I am razor focased on that ONE thought pray for me people............
  5. DON"T give up!,thats the old you, you must take some responsibility for whats happening or not happening with your band." you can tolerate as much as you could before being banded???????? really. Is that what you learned in banding 101? REBOOT! Start again continue the fills to help with more restriction.Lapbanding is not a quick fix it takes your commitment to change you !
  6. You should be eating portions you were instructed to eat. There is alot of self talk involved in being banded. I talk to myself everyday I tell myself that I can do this,I refuse to give in to my head hunger. You must be responsible for your intake not just flip back to who you once were, and expect that the BAND will NOT STOP you! It won't,you commit and understand that the band will help you only if you do your part. Things will improve as your restriction gets to the right setting ,but you must do the work. The Band is not the total or easiest answer, but its a big help. You've sliped, like the rest of us its probally not your band slipping........
  7. Just wave bye bye to your old friend Diet Coke, try a replacement I do Powerade ZERO,its a coke product minus the carbonation.............its not good for you or your band. You don't need a poll to make the decision in your best interest.Talk with your Dr. and let the explanation be enough for you to make a education decision.
  8. Thats not true ! my fix was in surgery at the hospital. I was put under for the correct to be made
  9. I ve read that doing something at least 28 times it might just become a habit..........I ve found it true really zero exersize to 2x week 30 mins in the pool+1 mile. I ve played that message to myself every day and it helped me develope a healthier me...............Self talk is a tool ,use it !
  10. Congrats girl I hope to be joining you soon !
  11. In a heartbeat YES! I feel in contol with my band.Without it the cycle never ends lose, gain, lose and gain it all back again. Its worth every change I ve made in my life to feel healthy and in control.
  12. Anytime you eat too much and don't feel restriction its time for a fill and rethoughts on what you are doing remember measure ,measure and measure your food .
  13. I went four months after banding before my first fill. My Dr. told me I might be one of the lucky ones whom the banding is enough to cause the fullness feeling without fills. I believe he said that like 8 % of those banded never need a fill. It changed for me during month five and I had my first fill after looseing 50 lbs without any fills .
  14. Are weighing your food? I did'nt pick that up from what you wrote. If you are not following the 4 0z at mealtime this could be the problem.
  15. The problem with extended release is that the medication dosage tends to stay and you will feel the full power of the medication all at once instead over a long period of time......I was takeing a pain medication UltramER 300 mg for a herniated disk for over two yrs. One dose of this medication after banding I had to discontinue it put me into another world not stuck just out into space...................... I was switched to just plain ultram and I was fine.
  16. Are you kidding ????????????????????seriously. When did th erecall happen?
  17. Greek Yogart,avacados,tomatoes,sliced luncheon chicken,spinch,ground turkey,sweet potatoes,cheeze-it crackers,almonds, vanilla protein powder,black beans,canned tomatoes,fat free milk, poweraide ZERO sometimes no sugar added ice cream,fish filets,tuna not from a can,soups and oatmeal. I am a low carb bandster
  18. Hope all is well with you after your surgery let us know how you are doing !
  19. My Dr instructions are that I am to eat 4oz at each meal.(Some light snacking between meals allowed but very limited) just enough to get to the next meal. This is tuff if you are not at the right restriction ! Painfully sometimes its me talking myself out of returning to my ways before my band. It really does take a lot of self talk .............to keep yourself on tract
  20. EVERYBODY ! has to battle to get to a sweet spot,be patient follow your Dr instructions don't give up ! This is going to be your new normal, Its our new responsibility to continue the fills untill we find peace and appitite control the weightloss will happen. I ll be banded a year Oct 15. This battle to maintain control and listen to your band is forever if you are committed.
  21. Girl.......................don't give up so quick, this is a life change not an expresslane..............
  22. Congrats girl, I am inspired and jealous too I want permanate eye brows,I am sick of my invisable blonde brows.................. let me know how yours turns out !
  23. We cheer your physical activities but there are no bargins or exchanges to banding...........get on board and stay on board with all steps and everything will keep moving together. Your friend the queen of EXCHANGE
  24. Just keep going for fills untill it starts to work for you again,,,,,,,,,,,,,the proper adjustment sometimes just takes time be patient,DON"T give up
