  1. I as a christian have known forever that the uninsured die each day in this country. Its discussed very litely in this country because most think that things like this happen in 3rd world countries only! OPEN YOUR EYES !Turn off Glen and Rush reasearch it your self
  2. First Not every one will qualify for Medicaid. So I guess they just accept their fate and die..........
  3. As a Christian how can anyone be against a healthcare system that provides care for all Americans. Our curent health care system is based on ability to pay. Over 42 million Americans+ have no health insurance. So some say thats fair,I say its inhumane. People die everyday in this country because of this cast system of healthcare delivery.I am ashamed that our country continues to treat the least of our brothers in this matter. YES I work with the uninsured everyday so YES I see peole everyday struggling to pay for life saving medications like Plavix and everyday I see the results of not being able to fill even half of a prescription. Glen Beck and others have convinced many that public clinics care for the uninsured, the truth is that they provide patch work healthcare. The doctors there will tell you if you inquire that they can identify that someone might have cancer, but there are no funds to provide testing or advanced treatment many of them need to survive.
  4. Every thing sounds normal which is good actually. I was banded on Oct 15 so your experience is very fresh. It will take several more days before you begin to feel better. Just keep coming back to Lap Talk for the reassurances you need. Three weeks out I feel great ! I am happy with my decision to band Good Luck:rolleyes2:
  5. Please don't give up on yourself, keep trying everything........ Oct. buddy I was banded on the 10/15 , don't lose heart. There are many here that are here to support you.Hearing that you are ready to give up hurts in a big way, real deep and I don't even know you. But I really do know, you are just like me
  6. Good Morning to all, I was banded on 10/15/09.So far my restriction is still pretty tight. I ve lost 31 lbs so far. I have visited my Doc once with of course many complaints...I just get weak feeling, flutters in my chest. He sent me to the hospital just for a quick ck in emergency room. My body is just a big protestor of the starvation mode haha ! My biggest surprize in the ER was the doc said he wanted to show me something..he liffted up his scrub shrit to notice the marks of a banded person. He was 6 months out 50 lbs liter and feeling great. What a comforting site:lol:
  7. I was banded on 10/15/09,I went through my 6 month pre op hoops with only the support of a very few and their word to not share the info with all. After my surgery they were free to let who ever they cared to know. So,I guess I am out of the closet ,I am obese and need a better tool to battle what I ve battled all my life. Actually its kinda freeing ,I don't care what others who truely don't care about me THINK about the method to my current maddnes.:tongue_smilie:
  8. I am a reformed Diet Coke addict (5-6 cans a day),but surprizeingly enough I survived the withdrawl. I did not give up untill after surgery. It seems that with all the other discomforts of post op it hardly seemed that important anymore "Did I say that" YES! When I started feeling better after surgery I did not want to do anything to cause myself any problems. I was banded on Oct 15 2009.
  9. My thoughts..........of course my family and close friends know I was banded on Oct 15 2009. I did'nt share with others untill the surgery was over. My co-workers know from my friends @ work. There is a support to be gained by being open. I also believe for me their is comfort in being honest about mylife long issue,YES! I need help to overcome overeating/obesity! I refuse to allow ppl who don't like or care about me ,:thumbup:define me.
  10. In prep for the surgery I remember My Psych, "said you might miss food" I thought so funny. Now after surgery I know what she ment as you are experienceing also. I am 6 days out from being banded. The first few days were extreme.,teaspoons instead of a knife ,changeing EVERYTHING we've known about eating,we've come a along way.Soon the gas will leave you,I found that the worst,Gasxstrips that had me wanting to vomit. Be assured that things will gradually improve. I call my nurse monday and said I am to weak I feel really bad she had a suggestion that I was not getting enough nutrients. She suggested I eat every two hours small amouts like 2-3 tablespoons add something like creamy instant potatoes or creamy grits to help me. I was sooooooooooo glad I called her I was sticking too long to the clear liquid diet. This morning I had some low fat/SF yougart,3 hrs later I had 3tablespoon full of scrambled egg it felt like thanksgiving. Call your Nurse tell her how you are doing they will help you
  11. Lesson learned, I was banded last thursday felt extremely weak eating 2 tablespoons 3 x daily. My nurse responded no you need more I started eating every 2 hrs today and I feel so much better. She even added smoth instant potatoes and smoooth grits. I feel so much better .dont suffer call for help
  12. Dont give up, I was banned 6 days ago.feeling pretty ruff gas yes ,but my main complaint on 3 days clear liquid 2 tablespoons at a time I am so weak...........I finally gave in and called my doc office. The Nurse gave me another set of instructions eat every two hrs and throw in some instant potatoes or grits its been about 3 hrs I feel better all ready. Lesson learned they need to hear about your problem to be able to help you.
  13. I was banded on the 15 oct also. Your questions are the same as mine Gas!!!!!! I remember reading about it alot at this website but in my mind before surgery it seemed like such a silly thing to complain about.Funny huh ? I never had painful gas in my life.6 days out still feel it not as bad. I just feel weak..........do you feel that way also ?
  14. Too many choose to believe the worst Glen,Rush and FOX turn the channel or read read read..............something else
  15. Its not a crime to report to your Dr Staff how you are feeling. I am sure that they don't what you to fall out or anything. Are you taking a vitiam supplment
  16. I ve have the condition, I understand your crying so many folks online just stop their lives quit jobs, children, husbands and just go to bed. Don't I still work fulltime without any major problems. My husband understands the idea of fatigue. My children are all out of the house but not out of my life. I never want anyone to get the idea the battle is over. I pray alot thank God for all my blessings continue along my merry way. So many of those that I have talked with just decide and file for disability. My words to you try different medication resist heavy pain medications. There is no shame in useing anti depressants to help you deal with the discomfort. My treatment has been the same for the last 4 yrs Cymbalta 60 mg 2 times a day, and a milder pain medication Ultram ER 200 mg 1 time a day. Keep moveing
  17. I am all set to join the October banders 09 (Oct 15) I d also like to have a list
  18. I ll meet with my surgeon Mon 28th to set my Oct date.He has already told me I will do the 10 day liquid before my surgery. So it looks like the middle of October for me. I am excited about the surgery, thats very different for me I am usually a real baby about haveing surgery. I d like to keep in touch with you and compare notes.
  19. If you viewed the President Health Care speech last wednesday you might have caught a known fact here in Alabama,BCBS carries 98 % of all employers. Not much choice avaiable here:thumbdown:
  20. This is what Health Care Reform is all about.BCBS is my insurer also.In fact I have two Health care policies one from my employer and one from my husbands employer. My family has been covered for over 25 yrs but I still have the same hurrdels to jump.I hate haveing them with me when I go to my doctor.I d trust the public option anyday.I finished my 6 months last month but their argument was that it did not happen over 160 days period as opposed to 6 visits with my primary. So they made me wait an additional 3 wks to get their number right.! I was finnally approved today only after one more hoop.My thoughts are they were betting I d drop dead or give up! A fat woman determined go figure,They did'nt get to collect.Hang in theredo what they want and GET WHAT YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! good luck
  21. I see his presence each and everyday. I would not find such a thread offencive.
  22. Hey Girl, We both have alot in common both 53,both in Alabama and of course that haveing tried every diet known to modern man! Also I just finished my 6 month period also. Both Blondes!!!!!!!!!!!! Now just waiting to be approved by BIG BAD BCBS. I am in Mobile we need to stay in touch.
