  1. Your activity seems more than enough. If you are saying you are hungry all the time then that may be the reason for the gain. When I am hungry all the time its my clue to get back to my Dr for a fill..............
  2. Program Coordinator Aging Network,Mobile Alabama
  3. Just tell him to get over it ! Your decision stands its about you getting a healthy lifestyle. I remember during the Pre Lap Band Psych evaluation we discussed at length relationships and how our loved ones could pose many problems if THEY have issues...................Be strong!
  4. My dr instructions fluids only day of fill ,followed by day two mushies and day three back to normal
  5. Congrats on your new band, Its a tough decision to make , but it has to be all about YOU sometimes.... I am not sorry for making the choice of a healthier lifstyle and future. We are both in our 50's now and there is no better time than now ! Good luck on your journey
  6. Congrats girl ! I hope to be joining you soon........
  7. I was a huge DC drinker I also and feared the withdrawl would be painful...............Not so I drank up until the day of my surgery Last Oct 15, I wanted to be healthier and if meant the DC had to go along with everything else"Oh well" bye bye old friend.................I ve already replaced it with a far healthier drink Power Zero a sports drink made by coke.
  8. Just calm down, deep breaths, and talk to God about wanting to have a healthier existance with the gifts he has provided...........
  9. You are in DENILE ! about your addiction to carbonated beverages. You must accept the best advice to help you be a sucess........................ Just get over it
  10. I thought I was going to be one of the lucky ones too. I did'nt need a fill untill 4 months after surgery and lost 60 really quickly. Now I am in bandster hell 4 fills 20 more lbs..........and its time again..ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!
  11. You know what to do, it dosen't really matter about anyone elses thoughts on how much you are eating.............They are not on you journey, only you.........
  12. Your Dr should have given you a measurement of what a "meal" is. Mine is 4 oz, you REALLY need to weigh what you eat
  13. Something tells me the Dr will bump anyone in your way if possiable.
  14. Try Powerade Zero lotsa flavors, its become my favorite......since I ended it with diet coke
  15. Mild pain I used about 3 loratab during rcovery period. You will feel uncomfortable but I would not classify it as painful..............
  16. I too had to wait 6 MONTHS! to proceed with my insurance directives. Hindsight being 20-20 I am glad that I had to go through all the steps to get approved. It gave me time too fully understand and think about what I was about to commit to. I was PISSED and confused and mad at the world and especially at BCBS for making me do it. Just chill and comply don't let them say no to your opportunity to leave the obese world behind you. You will have no regrets..........remember good things come to those who wait or something like that ..........GOOD LUCK!
  17. Its your journey, just go with it.... DO IT !....dont postpone it........Resist on thought of missing out on all the overeating that the holidays bring. I was banded last Oct 15th so I missed them all..... ( Not really I had my measured food and it worked out just fine)
  18. I listened to a news story not long ago where FDA is now considering an implant for weight loss (sorta like a pacemaker for the heart ) its implanted near appetite central wherever that is and shocks to eliminate hunger. It would need to be replaced every two yrs. I guess one day in the near future lap banding will seem soooooooo old school......hahaha!
  19. You have eveyones permission to have sweets in moderation. We just can't get carried away like the ol days........I indulge ocassionly
  20. The Lapband cannot be sucessful all alone. Ask any bandster you need to be fully committed and work and work and work at it some more. There is no magic cure to obesity............but the lapband can work if you just gohead and marry it...................seriously

Go girl, don't let anyone get in the way of you getting in the right lane............
  22. My research lead me to the banding option. Firstly I am a winnie when it comes to surgical proceedures I just know the Bypass was too extreme for me. I have never met a person with a Bypass that did'nt have multiple complications. Lap band has issues but it is possiable to reverse or remove if need be. Recent studies on outcomes with Bypass are scary. The instances of heart attack and death are extremely high one yr out from surgery. They attribute this to nutrition no longer being asorbed by your body .........eek. This is not something anybody should want for themselves.
  23. AMEN............its always just sitting there in my freezer waiting for my glance that turns into a touch. My only battle tool is that I make sure that it is ALWAYS no sugar added ice cream with a dab of no sugar added cool whip. Of course its limited to a 1/2 cup

  25. I believe the whole thing is being bown out of wack by media sources.Considering that they have so far raised $18,000 dollars I am not too worried about it. Any guess at how many millions they will have to raise to accomplish their goal ? I do not invision it happening for decades.I do truely believe in freedom of worship the Community Center has been a fixture there for many yrs. Realize this too, many muslims also died in the 9/11 attacks also.
