  1. I also have a 14cc band and I believe I'm in my sweet spot at 6.4cc. I probably can go a little higher, but I don't think it's necessary. I don't want to overfill causing me to eat "only" soft foods. I try to control my portions, plus trust me the band will tell you if it's over. so far, so good. I try to live by the motto "LOSE IT AS YOU WILL LIVE IT!"
  2. This is my first weigh in. since Monday I've lost 2.5 band date: 06/15/09 start weight: 293 weight lost: 54  current: 239 fill: 6.4
  3. I also have a 14cc band; currently at 6.4cc. I believe I'm at my sweetspot. I had a fill on 09/12/09 which put me at 6.2 and I went in last Saturday because it's been awhile since I seen the doctor. I had lost 30lbs. I didn't think I needed a fill but the Dr. gave me .2 because he said it should loosen with this weight loss and also I'll probably wont be back for another 3 months. (unless I have no weight loss then sooner) Good luck!
  4. DITTO!!!! LOVE THIS BLOG.. I should read it every morning to remind me why!! Thank you!
  5. For me the first 3 months went really slow, but after my 3rd fill, which was this past Sept I have lost 30lbs, making it a grand total of 53lbs. I was like you, questioning if this was a right move, trust me it was. We need patience!! You can look up my past blogs and see I went through the same thought process as you! so don't give up, this investment wasn't just for you but for your family as well. I bet they'll be so much happier having a healthy mommy and wife.

    IS YOUR INSURANCE COVERING THIS?
  7. I have a 14cc band and on Saturday 01/09/10 .02cc was added making it a total of 6.4 cc. I felt restriction b4, but the Dr. said to put in a little because I lost 30lbs since 09/09 and I'll probably won't see him again for another 3 months and the band will/should loosen by then if not sooner. Been on liquids and mushies since Sat. Hopefully I be able to eat again solids soon. I just hope I didn't over do it!

I started taking the biotin 1000 gms a few weeks ago and so far I've notice less hair in my bathtub. By the week end I'd have a big clump on the strainer, but lately I've notice less. I'm not sure if I'm growing more hair, but I am noticing less falling out. good luck! P.S I don't take it every day bcause my multivitamin already has it. I take it like every 3 days. Good Luck

I sometimes miss beer, trust me I was a big beer drinker, but w/ the carbonation I can't anymore. There are time (very few) that I'll let a beer sit for awhile just to let it go flat... but it will only be one. Big victory for me!!!! If I do drink I've switch to vodka and diet cranberry. the carb count is low. good luck!

I remember back when I decided to go to school to get my Bachelors degree, I kept questioning all the money I was going to spend. (30K) fortunately I had a wonderful mentor tell me, “Why do we question ourselves when it comes to self improvement, but don’t think twice about purchasing a car, a vacation, etc”. These things are temporary, but this decision is a lifetime of improvement!! You are not just investing in yourself, but as well as for your husband. You’ll be adding years to your life and imagine the things you can do now that you can!!!! Good Luck on your new venture…

I to went as far as the injections, but decided to stop. I am now 46 with a secret desire that maybe it will happen. Not really trying, but if it's God's will I'm willing to accept. Good luck!

Congrats!! Take it one day at a time. keep coming here for advice and most of all don't compare urself to others. Just because some have great losses, doesn't mean that our little one don't mean a thing. Every lbs, 1/2 lb even an ounce is a victory!!! Listen to your band, trust me it will tell you when enough is enough. and most of all eat your Protein! (plus ur vitamin)

Tell them not to worry!! Had my surgery on Monday, and went to a job interview on Wednesday. Just make sure you walk around every few hrs.
  23. Why remove the cheese? it's protein.
  24. I was banded in 06/15/09 and so far I've lost 45lbs. I am really bad about exercising! I wanted to say I've lost at least 55 lbs by the my 6 months annivasary, so I may just push myself to start.
