  1. I always tell myself, if you want to be skinny, you need to eat like a skinny person.. A skinny person would have one truffle... a fat person would eat the whole box and trust me that use to be ME!

So yes, I have the occasional desert and not feel bad about it,why should I? I love my band! I've plateaued for about 6 months losing and gaining the same 5 lbs, but before the band I would have gained all my weight back by now and then some... it keeps me in control!!

Time for me to re-access and work my band again! I would love to lose 50lbs, so far I have lost 80lbs sine June 2009.

  2. I was banded on 06/15/09 and so far have lost 85lb... these last few weeks I was throwing up a little too much. I believe it was the stress of my husband having a double stroke in July, 2010. ( he is doing much better now) the doctor said the stress and the throwing up must have swollen my pouch, so he took out 1.1 cc. He said to give it a few weeks for the swelling to down, and then I can get a fill again. Maybe you just need a break, just be aware of what you get during the mean time!

  3. I was banded on 06/15/09 start weight 293. I was looking at my old post and at 4 months I was down 38lbs, so let me assure that your doing fine... so far I have lost 83lbs and am so grateful and happy!! I was like you at first comparing myself, but I stopped and I'm glad I did. I don't need the extra stress!! do YOUR best and the rest will follow. (I posted pics if you want to see the diff)

  4. I went up to 6.4 cc tried it for almost a month then had some removed. Everything was uncomfortable, sliming, pbing, and I refused to live on just mushies, so i went down to 6.1 doesn't seem like a lot but it made a world of difference. my stomach always felt like it was punched!! I know we all want to lose the weight and fast, but don't run the risk of damaging/ streaching you pouch!!

  5. I am like you... I love to cook. so I still do, I've just done some modifications and my food still tastes great. I now make chicken a hundreds different ways... I'm constantly looking up low carb foods on the web and experiment, until I can find what I like. I like making fish with green salsa, red salsa, garlic butter, etc. mashed garlic cauliflower, asparaguas, in butter, cream sauce... I can go on forever.. like I said I love to cook and especially eat, but now I choose healthier choices, with alot of flavor!! We don't have to give up, just adapt. Good luck with your decision.

  6. I know the feeling... I was also scared and started off at 293. I DID CRIED!!! there are some days that can be difficult, but oh so doable. I had my surgury on 06/15/09 as as of today I weight 218. I haven't felt this good in such a long time... yesterday a nurse, (who doesn't know I had the LB done) told me I was going to live forever. My blood pressure was at 116/66. Felt pretty awesome!!!

  7. what ever you don't go to those billboard 1-800-get-slim people.... you'll be putting your life at risk!! read an article on them awhile back (i believe in ObesityHelp.com) and it was scary stuff. I was personally told by a lawyer/doctor the horror stories and cancelled with them. Got a new doctor in westwood, CA Dr. Carson Liu.... love him!!!

  8. I started doing the Low Carb diet (Atkins) and that did it for me. I went to their website and bought the most current book and so far it's been working great with the LapBand. As for the brittle nails, and losing of the hair, I started taking faithfully my multi-vitamins and at least 3 times a week Biotin. My nails do seem to be a lot stronger and longer! Best Wishes!

Well folks this is our last weigh in and as usual I am doing this from work, so the link may not work. If someone can repost it, I appreciate it.

Anyhoot, I will post our VICTORIES, after work and congratulations to us that completed the challenge.

I wasn't as sucessful as planned, but am grateful for what I lost. This Easter will be the 1st Easter that I plan to participate in our annual family baseball game!!! Normally sat on the bench and cheered. I wouldn't have dreamt it before, but because of my weight loss and all of your support, I am so looking forward to it. Thank you! and may you and your family have a blessed Easter!!!
