LAP-BAND Patients

Need help, how do I select which doctor to go to??

Google Lapband Dr's in your area. Do lots of research online. Check the Dr. out with the Medical Board and make sure that the Dr. has lots and lots of experience with the procedure. Ask to speak to other patients they have banded and call them. You don't want a Dr. that hasn't done hundreds of procedures.

First consider cost factors, then consider travel distance. Did you know that in Seoul Korea, the Lapband surgery is about 6,800.00. Of course plus air fare and lodging arrangements. May be cheaper if the cost of surgery is 25K. People travel from Canada and all over the world to have the surgery done here in Korea. I know this if further away but it is an option as you may want to see the world too.

You can also look a doc up here on this site and see what people say about him or her.You need doc with lots of experience and a low complications rate...after the procedure your relationship is usually more with the nurses or PAs to get fills.

what ever you don't go to those billboard 1-800-get-slim people.... you'll be putting your life at risk!! read an article on them awhile back (i believe in ObesityHelp.com) and it was scary stuff. I was personally told by a lawyer/doctor the horror stories and cancelled with them. Got a new doctor in westwood, CA Dr. Carson Liu.... love him!!!
