This site has been my soul support system for me I have been banded year and one month. I have only told my husband and adult children 20 and 21 and my sister who had GBPS 9 years ago. I read so much and learn so much from this site it has helped more than any other thing besides myself who has learned to be small one must eat small. I can say I am small now and I still always want to eat more than I need too. I am a work in progress. This is a great place to ask questions and I do not think ice will hurt only if you break a tooth? I world recommend just sucking on them. I can not chew gum because that causes other things to happen a little TMI sorry. I have been able to lose 110 pounds all by myself and this site and my band. I am glad you shared and keep coming back. It is a wonderful place to vent and chat. Keep up the excellent blogging. Best wishes imaluckydog
  2. I so agree with everything you have mentioned. I cause myself stress which is not good and then I need an Un-fill. I am at a healthy spot now but as you say "Satisfaction" is really where its at for me as well. Best wishes imaluckydog
  3. Welcome and Best wishes I get on this site and bog everyday and I am honest with myself. I love my LB and have banded June 29,2009 I have taken off 110 wonderful pounds in a year. Yes, miracles do happen. Follow all the rules I would do this no matter what the cost. Best gift I ever gave myself. Best wishes to you on your journey. imaluckydog

You are doing so well. I am so proud of you, your head is in the right place. I eat a ton of broccoli I just love it now and never ate it before LB LOL. I am cleaning my closets as well I have had to give so much away. It seems I bought clothes that did not fit and now they are all too big. It is a good feeling. I did not start to feel restriction until after my 3rd fill. But remember to "eat small to be small" is my moto... The fills always seem to kick in a few days later so eat slow and chew as a reminder. You will know when you feel it. Best wishes imaluckydog
  5. Hi BG, I have missed you! I do read your other blog way to go girl. I went to my first after band support group. I know I have been banded and going to a support group one year and a month later seems a bit crazy but it was well worth the hour drive. I met some people who were really trying hard to work with their band and two others that have been banded as long as I have and have only lost 15 or less pounds and said that are miserable. You may want to consider in your book the support after banding is critical. If my hospital was closer I am sure I would have gone but they only hold these sessions on the last Tuesday of every month. I had to drive there in rush hour traffic and that does not make me happy. I was the skinniest one and another man who was there was skinny too we had been banded about the same amount of time, we had the same mind set. But it amazed me how others minds are just not in the correct place. I am not sure how to explain it. I have this band to get me small to make me healthy and others do not follow the rules and are still over weight and unhappy but are just not willing to make the trade offs on what they eat. I am HAPPY to say having had this web site to come to every day and to follow others who are successful has truly made a different in my weight loss and my journey to a HAPPIER me. Support on this journey is KEY... Have a nice trip. Thanks love imaluckydog
  6. Thanks how are you feeling these days? I love trying your recipes. Best wishes imaluckydog
  7. I am here all the way with you GF all the way!! Funny how our journeys sound so similar. I alway try to rationalize with my subconscious. On my Fridge I have posted on a 3X5 card 1,200 and everyone who walks in says why is that there. LOL I know it is to remind me if I want to lose this week I need to keep to that many a day. Yes the first 50 to 60 pound fell off me and it was a struggle ever since but low and behold 110 wonderful pounds later and I have stopped letting my head get in my way works for me. 400 calorie meals give or take I am not that strict. I exercise everyday some harder than other and I do not play minds games any more, I write it all down even the chocolate although that is some what medicinal don't you think LOL. Have a great day and best wishes imaluckydog

Feel better soon. I posted to your other blog. Best wishes imaluckydog
  10. You sure can do this!! I never set a goal I just kept losing and now I weigh about 145 down from over 250. I feel small in a years time. I look small and my clothes are size 10. Most people say hey skinny!! I laugh out loud when I hear that. My head still does not feel skinny. It has taken a lot of working with my band to get here. I can gain 5 pounds in a blink of an eye so I know what I have to do every day to keep my weight off and the same. I eat not to much mostly plants with protein first. Best wishes on your journey imaluckydog

I had food withdrawal and I sometimes feel I do now and I have been at this a long time. Take the meds that is important however you have to take them. Keep blogging it really does help how you feel. The beginning is a hard place to be I can assure after a year all will be so much better. Best wishes imaluckydog

We all love food and we are all hungry it is REAL. Yes, you are in a band hell if you will. I think about food all the time. My goal was to be a smaller person. The band has helped me become the size person I want to be. I have been banded a year and have lost 110 pounds and where it went I have no idea. All I know is I eat small and now I am small. I like what the band has helped me accomplish. Keep busy and try not to think about food that is what I have to do every day. You can do this remember to follow the rules and eat what and when you supposed to. Best wishes imaluckydog

You can do this!!!! Stay focused on what you want he most in all this WORLD!! I wanted to be small. I eat small to be small. Yes I feel hungry but I am not going to die if I do not eat all the time. It is hard I have been at this for a little over a year now. I have had fills and Un-fills and had more stress I would not wish anyone to have. Head hunger is a TRAP do not go there. Keep busy and stay FOCUSed on your GOAL whatever that may be? I know you can do it. I have been at this now since June 2009, I have made more than my share of mistakes, work with this band and you will be rewarded. I have lost 110 pounds and it has not come back. I love my new small body. Best wishes imaluckydog

  15. I ended up going a month early. Yes this will change your life. Good luck I have been at this now for over a year. Best journey I have ever been on Best wishes imaluckydog
  16. OMG you are doing so well I am so proud of you. I did this journey mostly all by myself and this web site was my only support system. I told no one! My husband is skinny and my two adult children were away at school. My sister was NO help. I was on my own. It is VERY hard doing this. I am so happy you have shared and have done so well keep posting. I am still alone after a loss of 110 in a year and a month I thank you know who for this site every day. Best wishes imaluckydog
  17. I agree we are just one big happy family. I thank goodness I have all of you in my life everyday. I am staying connected to others who share my common struggle and JOYS. I love my LB and love this site because it helps me stay focused. Best wishes imaluckydog

The pain is real! No one ever really feels good after a major surgery. Give it some time take the meds and follow band rules it may take a few weeks it may take a few days everyone is different. I was running around Disney World only two weeks after I was banded. Keep moving. Best wishes imaluckydog
  21. Oh you can do this!! and I can TOO!!! I love the little ball beating its head against wall. Yup, I have been there that is for sure. I am going to make the Best Food Choices today as well thanks for reminding me how easy it is to slip back into old habits. The band works I just have to put the best choices in my mouth for one meal at a time today. I have cut out all snacks (just for today) my old habits are coming back to haunt me. Have a great day and Best wishes. imaluckydog

I have been on this site at least once a day for over a year now. I could not have been as good or followed the rules as well without all the people (my friends) on this site. They offer suggestions and give real life experiences that I can relate too. I have lost 110 pounds and I am still here to talk about it. This LB has changed my life forever. Down from a size 24 plus to a size 10 I am very Happy where I am and even put a bathing suit on and went to the beach by boat on my Birthday. Miracles do happen when you follow the rules. Best wishes and keep us all posted we care about you. imaluckydog
  23. Positive is key, you are doing all the correct things to get ready. If someone told me I would lose 110 pounds in a year I would not have believed them. I did lose 110 pounds in a year so just wait and it all goes by so FAST!!! I have no idea where this year has gone. Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog
