The Fat man's Execution
I believe in you..... I also believe I will see less of me in the mirror, someday soon. I just do not see the mirror as a friend yet. I will be having my third fill on October 5, I have been tight for a while now. I actually pushed this fill back it was supposed to be 3 weeks ago. I feel ready for a fill now. I was called the "incredible shrinking woman" yesterday! I ran up and gave that women a kiss. I still do not see it. I do feel smaller but cannot see it yet. I am wearing clothes that are too big for me. I am going to down size soon. I guess I enjoy the clothes feeling loose as my clothes have always been too tight and uncomfortable on me. It feels good to swim in my clothes. I really need to get clothes that fit soon. Counting the days until I get a fill. imaluckydog and I am still smiling to beat my band

So, this is how it goes.
This band will work for you if you work with the band. I am not sure if you are banded yet. Just joining the site is awesome and congratulations for takes baby steps in a healthy direction. I was banded on June 29 and my life is a LIFE today. I have felt the "Fat is the new racism" is more like "FAT Discrimination" to me. I am down 50 pounds since I started my LB journey. I just want to wish you the best and thank you for sharing. You write so well. I'd love to read your blog again. imaluckydog Kathy

October 2009 Surgery Date?
I stopped drinking soda the week end before I was banded. I do not miss it and have not had or even a desire to drink it. I have not even bought any of it.I drink water and iced tea now. I would drink 4 or 5 soda a day. I thought I would want it but I have been full for most of the time. I am due for a fill and I am feeling like I can put a little more food away. But I am really trying to watch it. I want to get to onederland sooner than later. As for chocolate I can say I would bathe in it if I could. Funny thing I do not want it or desire it. This is so weird. I do not have cravings and I do not know why. I eat my three meals and I'm done. I love playing with my band. imaluckydog

9/22/09 Autumn Begins
I love this time of year. It is very festive. I never much liked Halloween because of the candy but I do not eat it anymore and sugar tastes gross to me now that I have not had any. I will have fun giving goodies away to the kiddies. I love your pictures I am getting excited now to decorate. Thanks for sharing. imaluckydog

Eating with strangers
I wish you well. It will all work out if need be just eat a smaller amount so not to get stuck and get more in later on. You know how going slow is so much better. I hear you when I rush a meal it is the worst. Engage in conversation and everyone will be doing their own thing. I have found that most people do not care about what or how much I am eating because they are eating themselves. I have not told any of my work associates and I feel the same as you. It is my business. Best wishes have a great day. imaluckydog Kathy

Brigham and Women/Faulker Hospital
Ok I just love your great attitude my friend. I was banded 12 weeks ago June 29th it seems not that long ago I had all the same questions and needed all the answers asap. Let me just say. I NEVER had any gas pains in my shoulder at all so I worried about it for nothing. I bought stuff I never used but better be safe than sorry. I only had port pain when I let my medication run out and I did not like them any way the meds made me feel yucky so I sucked it up. I felt a pinch for about one week after LB at port site. I got up and walked around my house so I could do it blind folded WALKING really helps the first few days. I have been full since day one. I have had to learn how to slow down my eating and I eat small to be small. It has been a fantastic journey and I would do it again in a heart beat. I know for sure I have already lost 50 pounds and I weigh again on Oct. 5 I just can't wait because I know I have lost even more. I eat what ever I want that makes me feel good with in the Dr. guidelines and I never drink with meals ever. I did at first because it was hard not to. When I stopped I was fuller much longer. I have a hard time with grilled dry meats and I do not eat pasta and soft bread. I gave up soda and Have very little sweets I do not miss it. I have sugar free pudding instead. You will need to keep us all posted. Best wishes on your LB journey. I was Banded at Lahey in Burlington Mass. imaluckydog Kathy

9/19/09 10 Pounds At A Time
BG This why I just love you GIRL!!!! I have not been setting goals at all. I just wait for every Dr Visit to happen and I am also questioning how well I have been doing. I really eat so little and I know everyone is different. But I was thinking just this morning how important GOAL SETTING really is!!! Then I read your blog THANK YOU.... You are such a leader and I thank you for sharing. I was banded a few months after you but I still found your info extremely helpful. I do not feel like a newby anymore, that is for sure. I like the 10 pound goal and I also am going to revisit my blogs and see what I have done. I am happy with my progress and I think I am right where I am supposed to be. I have good restriction and have had it since day one. I also think my head is catching up little by little. Have a great day. imaluckuckydog Kathy

Saw dietician today.........
I agree with onikenbai I have learned way more on this site than from any meeting for LB I went too. I had months of group psych meeting and nutrition meetings, Dietician meetings and nurse meetings. This site is way more supportive as well. It is well worth the time you put in and the length of the journey. I ended up having surgery almost a month early because I was ready and there was a slot open. My original appointment was to be July 20 and I was banded June 29. Yes, I was totally psyched. I have lost 50 pounds already and have enjoyed playing with my band. I have also learned many things about myself in the journey. I chose not to tell many people only my family so no one at work knows. Best wishes to you. imaluckydog Kathy

Finally back on the wagon!
You GO Julie ann, You rock this LB house. I also need to lose about that much you are such inspiration. I hear you about the 3 month plateau that is hard. You are going in the best direction possible now. I need to set some goals I am going to think about that today. Best wishes and Happy journey thanks for sharing. imaluckydog Kathy

Support group concerns
Hi I was banded June 29. I am not sure if I ever had bandster hell? I could eat what I wanted although I found I had trouble with grilled or roasted red meat and pork I just could not chew it enough to get it to go thru easily. I love red meat. I have found my food needs to be moist. Dry foods is something I have not been able to eat. I never drink with a meal and I stay fuller longer. I had a primer fill and have felt restriction since day one. I will get a third fill Oct 5 it was to be earlier but I pushed it back because I am full all the time. I have a 10 cc band with 5 cc in it already. I have to force myself to eat three times a day. I know with my next fill I will not be able to eat anything and will need to take it slowly again. I have been learning in stages what my body can handle. I have not had soda or much sugar, no baked goods, bagels, breads, or pasta and I do not miss that kind of food it never made me feel good when I ate it. I know I have lost over 50 pounds and I feel great today and I am post op 12 weeks. I think I am doing well. I love this tool it is working for me as I am playing with my band well. I eat little to be little. BG is correct always consult your Doc. I went running back to Doc after 3 and 5 days thinking I had blockage, it was I was eating/drinking to fast. Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog Kathy

Hello I am new to forum and thinking about lap band
I can not eat the way I used too. I do miss PIGGING OUT. But I eat a little to be little today. It is easy, I listen to my body and stop when I get the "Oh you are almost full feeling" I was banded on June 29 I have had two fills and I have some really GOOD restriction I must say. I just can not eat the way I use to. Oh yes I miss it. I do not miss the 50 pounds I have lost and I know I have lost more but will not find out how much until I weigh in on Oct 5 for my 3 fill. This is the best tool I have ever had and I feel GREAT I love what the people have to say on these pages and it is very supportive and friendly. I love playing with my band. Best wishes to you. imaluckydog Kathy

17 Weeks Post Op...Progress
Nice work I also feel so much better. I love reading blogs that inspire. Thank you for that. I am working as hard as I can making good food choices and I feel smaller today. I think my head is starting to catch up if anyone knows what I mean. I felt smaller in the shower this morning. I have never been happier and as clam in my entire life. Even when family throw me curve balls I can handle it I do not feed into it or get up set anymore it is so amazing. I have been stressed and it is true the band gets tighter for me so the less stress I have the better I feel. Here to less stress and being Happy. imaluckdog Kathy

9/18/09 Heads Will Roll!
Hi BG, You are amazing I love you girl friend. I love your honesty and everything about your blog. Thank you for making me smile. I do have to get a new bra soon. Thanks for the insight. I have taken my time losing as well and I will get my 3rd fill on Oct. 5, I have had really good restriction and have not wanted another fill yet. Today I had to bring my jewelry to the safe deposit box because I do not want to lose them. I just can't wear my rings any more. I will need to get them sized but I want to wait I may just go get something special to wear while I am down sizing. I am so PROUD of you. I learn so much from you as well. Best wishes imaluckydog Kathy

Best wishes you will feel better soon. :-) Yes do keep up with the walking that helps so much. Liquids are key at all the stages. I have not have a soda since the night before I was Banded June 29th. That was a little over two months ago. I do not even think about it anymore. I love my water. imaluckydog
