  1. Ok, so I'm doing really well with the amount of food I eat and all of that, nothing like that has been bothering me, I'm not even tempted by other peoples "bad" food anymore. BUT, I am having a really hard time getting used to not drinking before/during/after meals. Especially, during. Anyone else having this problem? I just felt like venting a little bit because for some reason, it seemed really difficult for me this weekend. I didn't give in, but it's been hard.

  3. Well this wasn't the greatest week, but at least I didn't gain or stay the same, and I'm finally out of the 260's! July 3rd- 260 July 10th- 259.5 I'm going to attribute this to it being that time of the month and I'm really bloated.... GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WEIGHING IN TODAY!
  4. So, I'm starting on birth control pills in a couple days....and I was wondering how things are going for those on bc pills and the band? Has it affected your weight loss at all? Side effects since getting banded, etc? Thanks!
  5. Thanks Ann! YOU are doing amazing!
  6. I was out of town this past weekend so I didn't get to post....Had my first fill last Monday 6/29/09. June 26- 265 July 3- 260 Down 5 pounds! YAY!
  7. I am also embarassed about using the card, so far I haven't used it. But I am going away this weekend and will be dining out more, so my nurse suggested asking to to order off the senior menu as opposed to the childrens because the food tends to be healthier. Also, some other banders have said macaroni Grill will accept the card, Red Robin, Fridays, etc.
  8. I actually got a staph infection from my softcup bra in one of my incisions! My boobs are really big, and the softcup was rubbing against the incision and I suppose bacteria got in there. I think most people say wearing sports bras for the first month or so. If the bra touches any of the incisions, cover them up while you have the bra on. As for the pain, I'm not sure what that could be. But I did wear an underwire bra the other day for several hours and found that it irritated me pretty bad, it kept pressing into my flesh and hurt.
  9. Good luck next Tuesday! I don't think you'll be too tight after your first fill. My doc said they don't generally fill too much the first time, so you'll probably be more restricted, but I don't think you'll have to worry about being too tight yet! Good luck! :rolleyes2:
  10. I'm feeling pretty good! I was really hungry this morning before I went and I just had some soup, and only could eat about 3 oz of it and felt FULL! I know this is common right after, so I'm curious to see how I feel in a couple days. The fill didn't hurt one bit, the doc numbed me up first and I couldn't feel anything! Have you had a fill yet? If not, when do you go?
  11. Had my first fill about 30 minutes ago! My band holds 9cc. I had 1cc from surgery and he added 2cc today, so I'm at 3cc now. We'll see how it works! I go back July 23rd for my second fill! Hope everyone is doing well!
  12. I go for my first on Monday. I'm nervous because my nurse said he may not do it if I'm steadily losing weight, which I am. I just have to explain to him that I am hungry ALL the time and don't get filled up easily. This weight loss so far has been on sheer willpower alone. I need just a little bit of backup! Keeping my fingers crossed.
  13. Ugh, just got a call from the ER doc that saw me the other day, turns out I have 2 strains of staph infection. Great. So I'm still on antibiotics. Seeing my surgeon Monday for the first fill and he will take a look at my incisions again then. They seem to be healing fine, knock wood. But it just stinks to go through this! Sorry.....frustrated!
  14. Leann, I'm so sorry to hear about your niece. My condolences.
  15. Haha like Bea, I've got the poor part down, just got to get the skinny. So my answer is definitely skinny and poor. Money doesn't buy happiness!
  16. I think it stinks that your DH doesn't support your decision to get healthy. What could anyone possibly have against someone trying to lose weight and get healthy? I have seen women say that their husbands/boyfriends are afraid that they will become more attractive to other men when they lose weight. I understand that, but still, they should want what is best for their partner. My boyfriend is so extremely supportive and I'm really thankful for that. Don't feel guilty. You are trying to better yourself. Hopefully he will come around.
  17. I think it can work and feel good if you are totally relaxed. But seriously, who is totally relaxed trying anal the first time? I know not me! It can hurt like hell the first time, but after that it does get better.
  18. I can't even take a bubble bath without getting an infection! UGH. So no, I don't douche because I've heard that it causes infections. But my vajayjay is just fine and have never had any complaints or problems!
  19. If you really feel like you need to tan, I suggest covering your scars. I know that the sun/fake sun only makes the scars darker. Everyone is different, what might not effect one person can effect the other. I say just be really cautious.
  20. Well this week I am down 4 pounds!!! Which brings me to a total loss of 30 POUNDS as of today!!!!!! I'm so excited!!! I met my first goal!!!!!
  21. I'm having the opposite problem as well. I haven't had my first fill yet though, not until Monday. But anyway, I am never full! It's so hard to stop after the small amount I know I should be eating. I made turkey tacos the other night and stopped at one with a very small helping of Beans. But I felt like I could have eaten 2 more tacos! I am really hoping that my fill will help me get fuller quicker. I don't think once I reach restriction that I will have a hard time dealing with the small portions, but only time will tell. Hang in there Ann! I'm sure we'll get used to it soon.
  22. I know! I'd love to burn my bras, that's for sure, but then my boobs would be at my waist, lol. Hey, I see your surgery is tomorrow!??! GOOD LUCK!!!!!! :smile2:
  23. Thanks for the reply. I'm actually not wearing an underwire. I'm wearing a soft cup bra. I always do wear an underwire normally, but since surgery I've only worn an underwire once. I just have huge boobs and they aren't the perkiest ones going so it rubs up against my incision sometimes when I sit. But I have to keep it covered now for another week so hopefully it won't get anymore irritated.
  24. So, I'm almost 5 weeks out from my banding, and everything has been really good, until yesterday. I went to my support group last night, returned home at about 8:30 pm. Went to take my shirt off, reached down and felt something wet. Looked and saw that I had blood all over my stomach under one of my incisions. The one incision on my far left under my breasts was dark purple and looked like it had a blister. So I immediately panicked, went to the urgent care, and found that I have a "stitch/suture abscess". So now I'm on antibiotics for 10 days. I was so mad. I was having a bad day yesterday as it was, and this was just the icing on the cake. (Sorry I mentioned cake, lol). It's just so weird because until this point, my sutures had been healing fine. The doctor said she thought it was irritated by my bra which makes sense. I just want to focus on getting healthy and this was just a total distraction. Anyone else having problems with their incisions? Thanks for letting me vent everyone! I try to talk to my family/boyfriend/friends about it but feel they can't really understand what I'm dealing with. So thanks again for listening!:smile2:
