  1. John you are simply amazing! Good job! I'm sure you'll have no problem getting to 220! As for me: Last Friday 237.5 Today 234.5 Finally after a couple of weeks, I'm seeing some progress! I finally hit 60 pounds! I'm excited!
  2. CONGRATS! That is awesome, and so close to your goal, you must feel incredible!
  3. Thanks for the replies. I just tried them the night after I made this post. I really liked them alot and didn't have any problems with them and my band. I did rinse them well and boil them for a few minutes to get the excess out. They were quite good!
  4. ANN! OMG you look AMAZING! Congrats to you! You look fantastic!
  5. I have another! I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks and I've been dreading dress shopping. So I finally went this weekend, the first dress that I saw that I really liked I tried on. It was a size 18. I didn't think it would fit because I haven't been able to wear a size 18 dress in I don't know how long. Anyway, I figured what the heck because it was on clearance for 10 freaking bucks! So i tried it on and it fit PERFECTLY! I didn't even have to suck my stomach in, lol. I was thrilled.
  6. My port is also closer to the right. I can still feel it, but it doesn't stick out as much as before. It's so weird, I remember being so obsessed with it the first couple of months because it just felt so weird! Now it's just another part of me, I suppose! ;0 The shoulder pain was the worst for me, but it goes away soon! Hang in there! Keep up the good work.
  7. I was the same way after surgery, for about a week or so. Trust me, it DOES go away. Don't doubt your decision to get banded this early in the game. I know it's discouraging, but trust me, it's only temporary. I had my doubts in the beginning as well. I wasn't able to eat anything solid or semi solid until after about a week and half. Take it slow, do your liquids and hang in there. In a weeks time, you'll be feeling alot better. The gas and pain are normal. I experienced that terribly in the beginning, I thought I'd never make it. But here I am 4 months later, 58 pounds lost, and I feel SO much better. I am happy with my decision to be banded and I know that you will too. Just please give it some time. You'll feel better soon!
  8. LOL I can imagine! :bored: Hopefully you won't have to deal with that again. And you know, maybe being on the road made your stomach a little more sensitive too! Good luck!
  9. I'm guessing it was because your stomach wasn't ready for anything solid yet. It does happen, but not too often, in my experience. Don't worry, you're fine! If happens more regularly, give your doc a call, but I wouldn't really worry.
  10. It's normal. Hang in there. It'll get better in a couple of days!
  11. I am 4 months out and went tanning a few times after 3 months. If I were you, I'd cover the scars while you tan. I put a small cloth over my stomach. Sure you get a white patch of skin, but I've heard that tanning can discolor your scars. Better to be safe than sorry.
  12. I agree with the others who say to increase your calorie intake. It doesn't sound like you are eating enough. I'm 4 months out and have noticed the last couple weeks that my loss has slowed alot and I think one of the reasons is that I wasn't eating enough. So this week I've started to vary my diet and trying to eat a little more. We'll see how it goes, but I think that's what you should try. And I agree about eating your protein instead of drinking it. A shake is good for a snack, but not for a meal! And as you said, you're already halfway there, don't beat yourself up about it!
  13. Is the pain just at your port site? or your abdomen in general? I think the pain varies per person, mine was the worst when I would lay down. I couldn't get comfortable and sleep a whole night until a week out. Hang in there, trust me, in a few days it'll get better. But if you find that it gets worse, call your doc.
  14. I keep a Weight Watchers 32 oz mug with me at my desk at work all day. I manage to drink 2 mugs per day at work. I found it goes down easier for me if it's not ice cold. Then, when I come home, after I work out every day, I have a 20 oz bottle of water, sometimes more. On average, I get about 80 oz a day, if not more.
  15. That has happened to me a few times, usually after I've tried to eat something different than what I was used to. What did you eat before that?
  16. I have a Hungry Girl cookbook and saw that they use these noodles quite often in recipes. I have a recipe that I'm going to try this week, but was just wondering what people thought of these "noodles". I haven't ever tried pasta since being banded, and since these were made from Tofu, I fugured I'd be safe. Has anyone tried them? Like them? Dislike them? Thanks!
  17. Good job Minx! And John, thank you! I needed to hear that!
  18. Awesome job John! You are such an inspiration! Last Friday- 237.5 today- 237.5 No loss. i'm so bummed. This hasn't happened since surgery. I've lost one pound in two weeks. I have an appt with surgeon next monday for another fill. But also, I started new birth control pills and that's when this all started. So upset right now.
  19. So, since I've started these pills, my weight loss has been horrible. I've lost ONE pound in 2 weeks. I'm so upset over this. I'm stopping these pills and talking to my doctor about an alternative. Not only the weight issue, but I've been nauseous and super moody.
  20. Ok, so I had my 3rd fill a month ago. I have no idea what's going on but I am the hungriest I have ever been in my whole life. I wasn't feeling that restricted right after the 3rd fill, but the hunger seems to have gotten worse. At my last fill, dr was hesitant to even give me one because I'm losing so well. So he gave me .5cc. I don't know what's gone on this last month, but I am nervous. My stomach moans and groans constantly, and I'M EATING! Seriously, I eat my fish and veggies for dinner as always, and I'm still hungry now right after I eat. And I've noticed the last 2 weeks, my weightloss has really slowed. I called the doctor today and they can't get me in until September 28th. A little over a week, but it's going to be the longest week of my life! I'm just miserable....Just had to vent.
  21. Ann, I'm having the same problem as well! I tried on some of my favorite rings the other day and they were too big! I am curious to see what is out there for this as well... And LOL, yes, such problems!
  22. Happy birthday and congrats on being taken off your hb meds! That is an awesome accomplishment!
  23. Thanks for the reply! I will look into that doctor! Best of luck.
  24. I just started taking my birth control pills again last week. I am nervous that it'll affect my weight loss, but we'll see. If it does, I'm going to ask my gyn to switch me to something else!
