  1. Just wondering if anyone was out there in Downers Grove or the surrounding areas? I am moving there in 6 months. I was banded May 2009 and will need to find a good surgeon to continue my followup. Any help would be really appreciated. THANKS!
  2. My boyfriend, friends, immediate family, and coworkers knew about the surgery. They are the only ones to compliment me. I recently went to a bridal shower for a cousin, and NOT ONE person said anything to me. I was a little devastated. As you said, I've done this for myself, but a little recognition would be nice. I mean, before I wore super baggy clothes and looked so bloated. Now when I saw them this time, I wore figure flattering clothes and I can at least tell a big difference in my face. I was annoyed. But that's ok. I'll still keep plugging along. My family and friends tell me they can notice and my boyfriend tells me everyday how proud of me he is and how beautiful I look {even though I think that's a lie!) So don't get discouraged. Keep doing this for you!
  3. Ann, that's awesome that you can take the stairs now! I bet that feels great for you, both physically and mentally. My sister has arthritis as well and I know how painful it is for her, so congrats to you on doing exercise, that's a great accomplishment! :mad2:
  4. I replied, I have been banded for almost 4 months and have only gotten stuck a couple of times. It's been awhile since the last time!
  5. How do you like the 30 Day Shred? I'm going to be getting that from netflix soon.
  6. Good for you for exercising! :mad2: And I agree, I'm so excited for BL tonight. I love that show. It motivates me too. I think now, especially, since I'm going through this weight loss journey, it'll be an even bigger motivator!
  7. Yowza, that sounds like an incredible workout! I am going to have to look into that Yoga class. That's an insane amount of calories to lose! I really have to give you credit for that, I'd probably pass out after 10 minutes, lol.
  8. Wow, ValJean kudos to you for doing the bike riding to work! That's a great workout I bet. And probably pretty relaxing. I have yet to try yoga, do you like it?
  9. Minxz, what workout dvds do you like best? I am doing the Biggest Loser Boot Camp dvd and man that thing kicks my butt, lol, but I feel alot better energywise already from doing it. Just curious to see what ones you like!
  10. Wow, that's awesome! You have lost alot of weight since surgery! Congrats! You do sound super busy, so I bet you are still losing alot of fat and calories each day without even realizing it, just by doing chores/running around with the kids. Keep up the good work!
  11. Hey everyone, was just curious to see what everyone is doing for exercise and how often? Is there anyone who doesn't exercise much at all? Just curious to see what we're all up to!!!! Hope everyone is well!
  12. I was on my period at surgery. I had a tampon in, but they told me I had to remove it and gave me a pad that was the size of a diaper, and these weird underwear. No big deal though. I was nervous about it, but once I got there I was fine!
  13. congrats to everyone! Last Friday- 238.5 lbs today- 237.5 lbs One pound this week. I'll take it considering it was that time of the month and I've had a really hard and stressful week. Good luck to everyone next week!
  14. I've heard alot of people on here suggest Biotin. I've been taking it for over 3 weeks now, and I have to say, my hair is still falling out rapidly. I hope it kicks in soon. Good luck to you.
  15. You are really lucky to have that doc Ann! my doctor won't do a fill before October because I lost 12 pounds in August. I'm so bummed. I don't think he's listening to my concerns.
  16. Awesome John, so close to 100!!!!!! You are unbelievable!!!! Last Friday- 242.5 Today- 238.5 Lost 4 pounds this week! I was happy! Good luck everyone.
  17. Bevan, I am in the EXACT same boat as you. I had my 3rd fill 2 weeks ago and my doc only did a small one because I had also lost 10 pounds in a month. But I explained to him that I have no restriction and am doing it on willpower. I could easily eat 1 1/2 cups as well and am hungry within like 2 hours after. But I try my hardest not to eat that whole 1 1/2 cup. Sounds like we have a lot in common at this stage. I don't go back for my next fill until October 22nd, I don't know if I'll make it that long like this!:blushing: But best of luck to you, let us know how it goes for you!
  18. I had my surgery in May and I eat salad all the time. My doctor gave me the ok for it 2 months after surgery. Maybe just call your doc and make sure!
  19. Well hope everyone is happy with their numbers today! Last Friday- 244 Today- 242.5 So 1.5 lost this week, I was happy! Good luck to everyone!
  20. emjay thanks so much for your kind words! I am glad I made this thread because I'm starting to feel a bit better. ANd that's a great idea about the fill, I will mention that to my doctor! Thanks again! Congrats on your weight loss!
  21. wow, ok so we're in the same boat. Sorry that you are going through the same thing. I guess all we can do right now is just continue doing what we're doing and hope for the best. Good luck with your next fill.
  22. First of all, let me congratulate you on your amazing weight loss! Also, I have asked him about another fill and he said I had to wait at least another month before he'd even consider it.
  23. Glad to hear I'm not alone, but sorry for your experience. How come your doctor hasn't given you any fills?
  24. Thanks for the reply...I was under the impression that Bandster hell was when you hadn't reached restriction AND weren't losing weight...I guess I was wrong about that. I am losing weight, so that's a good thing. Just really uspet because I don't think I can go 2 more months like this.
  25. Ok so I was banded on May 20, 2009 and to date I have lost 51 pounds which I am very happy with. However, I feel like I am doing this all on my own without any help from the band at this point. I had my 3rd fill last Thursday and the surgeon was even hesitant to do it because I've been losing so well. But he put in .5 cc. The problem is, I feel like I have no restriction whatsoever. I could probably eat about 2 times more than what the band allows. I am hungry all day and nothing really seems to fill me up. I've explained this to the surgeon, but he won't do anything again until my next appointment which is in the end of October. I am so frustrated and depressed about this, I've cried quite a bit this week. I feel like my band just isn't working for me so far and my surgeon really isn't listening to my concerns. I just wanted to post on here because my motivation alone can only take me so far right now, I'm not giving up, but I just feel at this stage, kind of regretful. I know the band will sooner or later work for me, but right now, I feel just like I did on Weight Watchers. Just wanted to see if anyone has gone through the same thing. Thanks for listening.
