  1. This is a good idea! I can fit into my favorite pair of jeans that I haven't been able to wear in 2 years, Tommy Hilfiger jeans that I only got to wear like twice! Also, I'm exercising every day as opposed to never! LOL. How about everyone else?
  2. Yum I love tilapia also, that sounds great. Thanks for the recipe, I'll try it this weekend!
  3. I've been looking around at some recipes on this site that sound delicious but have noticed a couple use Stovetop stuffing. Is that ok to eat with the band? I wasn't sure because my doc said to stay away from bread.....Just curious! Thanks!
  4. how did he determine it was infected? Was it oozing or painful? Yikes! Hope it clears up and you don't have to have it moved. fingers crossed.
  5. Yep, it is completely normal and what is called "bandster hell". Don't worry, it'll pick up again but your body is just adjusting right now! Best of luck.
  6. So.....does anyone here enjoy eating tofu? I haven't tried it before, but was considering getting some today. Does anyone have any good recipes? Thanks!
  7. I have a boyfriend, but if I was single and dating right now, I guess I would wait until I felt the time was right. That would be after you get to know each other a bit and open up more to one another. Definitely not even within the first few dates, maybe not even the first 10 dates! lol
  8. Definitely. My legs are one thing on my body that aren't huge and before I gained all this weight, I used to wear shorter skirts and shorts. I can't wait to go back to that again!
  9. Oh my goodness, just wait til you get to mushies!!!!! It's like a 5 star meal just having a taste of mashed potatoes, lol. :grouphug: I do agree that this site is a huge comfort, it has helped me put my mind at ease on a number of topics. I think it's an amazing site full of great people!
  10. Thanks Lisa Marie! Glad that you are doing better and were rebanded without any problems!
  11. I know this thread is old, but I was just researching this! I have had this on and off for 6 years if I lay on my back, but since 2 days after surgery, it has been non stop in my right thigh! So irritating. I'm seeing my doctor Wednesday to see if there's anything I can do. Glad to see I'm not alone.
  12. Oh you poor thing, that sounds painful!
  13. You are right. Just hang in there ladies! I was banded May 20th and thought I was going to flip my lid that first week with broth, etc, it was hard. The one good thing is that I wasn't hungry. After that phase, and I could have soups, cheese, etc, it was better, but I did notice myself getting hungry again. Just take it day by day and remember to follow your doctors instructions as far as your diet is concerned. It'll get easier. And the pain and discomfort from gas and stuff goes away soon too!
  14. Aw, well just try to hang in there sweetie, I know it will get better. We have so much to adjust to, it's only normal. I know it's so hard, I didn't think I was even going to be able to make it out of bed this morning. The thought of coming to work made me want to vomit. I had the moodshift too. Friday I was on a complete warpath and told my bf I didn't want to be with him anymore, thankfully he knew I wasn't serious and didn't get mad. But then the last couple days, I've just been depressed and super sad. It has to look up for us soon. Just try to relax and take as much time for yourself as you can. Maybe get a massage or a mani/pedi, something that will soothe you a little.
  15. Sarah, I've been going through the same thing! Oh gosh, it's been horrible. My sister is ready to move out of our home, I think, lol. And my poor boyfriend, he's been the biggest victim. It's bad. I've been so damn moody, and it's not pms for me either. I hope it fades soon because otherwise I feel good!
  16. Thanks Sarah! Yeah, that's what happened, about 45 seconds later, it just came back up. What an awful experience. Hope it doesn't happen again for any of us anytime soon!
  17. OMG! I knew the day was coming, but I thought I'd be lucky enough to skip this part, but unfortunately I'm not so lucky. I had my first PB today at lunch because I ate my tunafish too fast. What a horrible feeling! Now I know what everyone has been talking about. I hope it never happens again! Do you guys get them often?
  18. I have not heard of that before. Have you tried calling your surgeon again today? Or maybe call your pcp? Sounds like you need to talk to them. Don't worry too much, but talking to them should calm your nerves. Best of luck.
  19. Don't get discouraged! The same thing had been happening to me, but I weighed myself today and lost 2 lbs. It's totally normal, your body is just adjusting. That weight is going to come off very soon, just stick with it!!!!
  20. Oh no! You tried it??? What happened? I am so afraid of ever trying it because of the horror stories I hear.
  21. I weigh myself on Monday mornings, so today I was down 2 pounds. I was happy! Last weekend I started soft foods, so when I weighed last Monday, I stayed the same. So seeing a drop on the scale today was nice. I was nervous I wasn't going to do well because I'd been eating cheese everyday, but not alot. But I was still nervous!
  22. My doctor has the 30/30 rule also. I am ok before, but after it's a killer! I am one who was addicted to soda, and had one with my meals. Now I can't even drink water with my meals, and it's hard to get used to, but I'm doing it. Went to a friends on Saturday night, had a few healthy snacks, but was dying for something to drink, but had to wait the 30 stinkin minutes.
  23. Thanks for the reply! that's good news. I am going to ask my nurse tomorrow if they will ok me to ride the bike because I'm itching to get on! Cheers!
  24. Julie, mine is located right where yours is, it sounds like.
  25. Welcome Erica, good luck with everything!!! You'll be so happy you did it.
