  1. That is absolutely doable! Don't get discouraged if the scale doesn't move right away. It will! Are you eating lean Protein? I got into the hamburger habit, because it goes down easily, but it's not lean... Woot Woot Year Number Two with the band! I went to the Marchies 08 thread to give a little shout out. It's amazing that we were living thier lives just a year ago. It's some powerful reading if you need to get motivated go and read. Wow.
  2. Awe shucks. I just saw 199 this morning, so you didn't miss a thing. I nearly called BG at 7am to tell her, because I know she's awake then, but I refrained and sent her an email later. I certainly don't expect people to just notice what's going on in my ticker. But thanks. Really, I went digging for old photos...and 8 years ago I weighed 338, maybe more. I didn't even want to look at the photos. So yeah, when I think about going from a size 32 pants (not waist) to a size 16, it's simply amazing! And to be reenergized about getting to goal is fantastic too!
  3. Thanks! It's pretty rockin! I have to admit I'm happy. Very happy in deed! 199.0 ONE NINE NINE POINT ZERO. XO you all.
  4. Mary Don't worry about eating out with other people. Most people don't care what or how you eat. I didn't have CIGNA but I did have to do a huge process for my insurance. Just dig your heels in and jump through the hoops. It is so worth the effort. Welcome!
  5. To get my motivation back I have a serious heart to heart with myself. I read motivational quotes as dorky as that seems sometimes they really work. Best recent one: "Knowing what to do and not doing it doesn't get you very far." J. Pfeffer. Also, I review what behaviors I was doing when I was seeing success. I look at old food journals to see what I was eating and I start eating those foods again. I appreciate shortgal's advice about detoxing from carbs. I do that too, albeit in a different way, but I do get the junk out of my system.
  6. Jeni We are step in step with each other Chica! I saw 199.0 too this morning! I'm so happy!
  7. I saw 199.0 this morning!!!!!!!!!!!! Yippy! Is all I got to say. I've been waiting for this goal for quite some time. Woo Hoo!
  8. I'm with you on trying to reinvigorate yourself. I took a break, I'm trying to get back on the stick. My personal goal is three days. Three days of following all the rules. Taking my Vitamins, drinking my Water, tracking my food. I can do anything for three days!!! But I needed my break. Perhaps you need one too. Just before you go all out of control pick an end time. Like I'll relax with the bandster way of life until April first. Then pick it back up again at that point. You are not alone. Good luck.
  9. Bike Nashbar.com - GORE BIKE WEAR women's Cortina II Short My GF has these and a few other pairs and claims that the GOREs are the best of the bunch. I only have cheap Performance shorts from last year and a new pair of Cannondale shorts. I like the cannondale, but I want to get some GOREs now.
  10. Asparagus is the best vegetable ever grown. And it's the first of the season....I can't wait...gonna get some now. Yumm-O.
  11. I tried to install yahoo IM again and it's all messed up as usual. I wish I weren't so ignernt. See what only children do? Actually, that's going to be a killer scrap page! Off to bath and bed!
  12. no yahoo at home. It just always gets messed up. I'll figure it out again one day. I do have it on at work. I know not a lot of good right now. It's fun to be 6. My kiddo just had a doggy tea party.
  13. is the tanning salon open? Maybe some personal spending can ease your rainy weather/icky blues. I did do well with my food today, BTW. I'm under 1000 kcals, and I've pushed simple carbs aside. I want them badly though. God do I want them. I figure three days of craving I'll be back to reasonable. Hopefully. That past tense like I'm not eating anymore today is because if I do I'll vomit in my sleep. Always a good time...
  14. You've been quiet is all. I've got nothing in particular to discuss...just missing ya.
  15. Well howdy new people. Hungry, I want to think there's a fella from NYC on here but I can't remember for sure and of course I'm too lazy to go back and check. Hopefully he will reveal himself shortly! Thanks dez, I'm doing the best I can, I feel great.
  16. BG Where are you???????????
  17. Okay, I'm in too! Name............ Current......... Goal....... Lost......Still to Lose OH Juli...........201..............190..........0.................11
  18. All I do is laundry! I have only clothing enough to get me through ONE week, because I refuse to spend more than I need to, but I also refuse to wear clothing that is too big! I'm happy I don't work in an enviroment where I need to dress professionally. Whew. That would be costly! I can't wait until I get to goal. I'm all about buying the $500 trench coat and pieces that will last years! I'm also looking to change jobs around that time too, so bring on the professional fashions! (I'm working on the MBA right now...)
  19. I went 6 mos with out a fill. Like you, when it slowed I decided it was time. There is only a finite amount of room in the band so my thinking is use it when you need it. Most folks need it ASAP. I guess we're just lucky, huh?
  20. Hlayne Congrats on your weight loss! How about I join you on your Quest to get back to basics? I had my blood work drawn today, being a year out, and I realize I'm not doing all that I should be doing. I don't take my Vitamins. I eat too much bread, crackers and other simple carbs. My fill is tight so I tend eat the easy things, not what I should be eating. So my goal is to get look at my food diaries from last spring and start eating like I used to...baked fish, veggies, yogurt, drink my Water. I want to be at goal by the end of 08. With spring coming I'll be outside and more active. I can't help myself when it's pretty outdoors!
  21. TX, I hit you up on facebook. I'm not that savvy on it either. Favorite, What Traci said was pretty smart. You are smaller than me when I started riding. You're size isn't an issue. The question to answer is what kind of riding do you see yourself doing in 4 months. What kind of bike does that take? Unless you are going to mountain bike on paths stay away from mountain bikes. Hybrids and comforts are good entry bikes. The local bike shop's bikes will cost a bit more, but you'll get fitted to your bike, and start a relationship with someone who is passionate about biking. It can't be said enough, don't buy your bike at Walmart or Target. The savings aren't worth it for the service and knowledge a local bike shop (LBS) person will give you. And don't worry about your size. Big people ride. Then they become little people. HP- I was at the GF's this weekend, cooking and entertaining...also doing school work. Why is it when life gets busy getting off the computer is the first thing we do? I'm back!
  22. Welcome to Bicycle Cleaning 101 Something shared sent out by WOW, my cycling group.
  23. There's frost on the windows and the grass this morning so we are probably not going to ride. Well, if the weater gets above 45 degrees we might go out. But I have a paper I've avoided writing all week. I'll check in later.
  24. Virgina Congratulations! Nikki You look fantastic!!!!!!
  25. We all moved to clipless pedal systems. And the rule of thumb is you fall once or twice with them... I got my fall in, now I'm done, no more falling.
