  1. I know I'm not hearing a thing !
  2. Call your Doctor, and get a appointment so he can look at the situation. If you can not wait ! Then go to the E.R. Where you were banded at.
  3. WOW ! I hate to say it, but it sounds like me.. I have been saying that stuff for a long time, only to add 1 other thing that did not get mentioned. Don't get hung up on the scale ! If you allready know that you loose 1 1/2 - 2 Lbs. a week, and you step on the scale not to see a 3-4Lb. weight loss, and then get Discouraged... Thast's unreal. You allready know better ! So, get weighed when you see a Dr., and you will be as suprised as they will be. If No Dr. visits are lined up, then weigh yourself 1 X a month ! Make sure it's not on carpet "not a true reading". Do it in the morning, and No cloths on "then you don't have to worry about the weight of cloths". Or in underware only. Add this to the list. Because it is best to go by your cloths size. Then you really see the difference. So don't get hung up on the scale !
  4. Welcome! First thing is you could not have found a better site to read from, and do your research on, so you can see the difference in all the Bandsters. I know what you mean about being to heavy. I was 356 at my heaviest. I shot my knees, "they were replaced" breathing was very difficult lieing in bed, and getting out of bed was another story by itself. Walking to the bathroom was a pain in the @$$. So I have a Idea what your talking about. I had the surgery, and no regrets at all. Yes it's mechanical so it can break down at times, and you need your surgeon to fix it up. But mainley it is managed by your surgeon for Resistance. As long as you are comfortable with your band, and losing weight ! You are doing just fine. Hope this helps, and talk to you again, Shirley.
  5. I'm sure you will find out the answer next week. I wouldn't worry about it.
  6. You have done well, your right in ther at 2lbs. a week. Your body is still healing, this can take some time. When it starts to come of you will know it ! In the meantime, don't think that you have done this for nothing ! Because you did not... Go to myfitnesspal.com and sign up. It's free, and will keep track of all your everything, and keep it in Memory. You wanna see what you had to eat 6 months back, then go take a look. Calories, Protein, Ecercise, Scan your producst by the Barcode label, and your phone (if compatible) and more! This will help keep track of your wl, so give it a try. A lot of people from here are there. I am Losingintime there, look me up. Shirley.
  7. As far as Urinating,,,, I'm thinking it's from the Foly Cathateer that you had in at surgery. You will go eventually, just keep drinking. Call your Dr. about the BM, and mention the Urinating to. Mine told me Water in, and water out ! since were really only drinking. Check that out with him.
  8. I had a situation where the pain meds just made me sleepy, and when I woke up was in extreme pain. So I called my surgeon, and explained it, and he said he would change my pain medication. He did, and it helped. He had me on Tyleno3 or Vicodin, and switched to Percocet. The other medication was codeine based, so it did not work for me.
  9. Congrats ! To the both of you, and Welcome to the Loosers side.
  10. I agree with Cazzy. Also since your body is use to what you would normally feed it, that has been cut, and it will react as in FEED ME ! I need all that stuff or I will be sick. Even though your listening to your body, (that's a Great Thing) some people just don't get their protein in, and if not Hair Loss can occur. So try to get in around 60G of protein a day. I know it's not easy, but try to get in at least 60 G of protein a day, also ask your Dr. about chewable multiple vitamins. I do 3 a day, and that's for the rest of my life. So while your talking to your Dr., you might mention that. Hope you feel better soon. Shirley.
  11. The more you walk, the more the gas moves, and it will come out. Everyones differnt, once allot of the gas is gone, you will start to go back to normal.
  12. That's a loaded question ! It depends on you allot ! if you throw up all the time, if you insist on being really tight, If you take certain Medications "Ibuprofin is one of them" all the time it can cause problems wit the band. These things, and more can shorten the life span of the Band "NOT THAT THEY WILL ! I SAID CAN...." We all have rules to follow, to loose weight, but we have to be careful ,and take care of it. The Band is always maintened by a Dr., that's why we go in for whatever we need. RNY your surgery is completed, you know the rules for WL, the rest is up to you. No need for a Dr. for WL.... When I met with my New Surgeon where I now live. They thought this little 4cc band would be shot by now, and was thinking a new band will be the solution to any problem. Well, I had no problem, just Deflated, the band was in excellent shape, "I seen that under Fluoroscope" and No surgey necessary. So depending on you, and how you take care of it, it can last a while. So I guess if the band would fail do to defect, and no erosion, or slippage, It can be replaced with another band. Nothing lasts forever, so that would work for me.
  13. That's one of the best things to kick ! It also causes a Beer Belly affect on some people, if they drink enough of it. It did for me....
  14. Well a big time congrats ! Are you ready for a New Life !
  15. Try a heating pad for comfort, and walk as much as you can. If it's Gas, If you move it moves, and it will come out. Check with your Dr. Also, and explain it to him/her, they might have a different idea.
  16. Not Really ! I'm sure as a kid you were stuck with a needle for a shot ? It's about the same thing. The needle is inserted into the Fat, and then it goes into a Port. That's it. Some Docs give a numbing shot with a needle, so you don't feel the needle. I never did see the point to that. I just tell them find the Port and stick the Port.
  17. You have really been through allot ! Since you stuck it out all the way, why not get filled under Fluoroscope. It's a big X-RAY Machine for your vital organs, and the band shows up completely ! The screen is up so the Dr,. or N.P. can do the fill. You will be able to view the process, and it's done the same way with a needle threw the Port. They look for your FILL LINE ! and fill you to it, or can stay just below it, if you want to try it that way, and then go back when needed to be filled. I would think with all you had done that if you mention this to your Dr., they might agree with you. He might not have the Machine in his Clinic, but the Hospital he works out of should have it. It's a Out Patient Procedure. This is what I have had done, and it works ! So it's a thought to pass your way, and maybe share with your Doc... Good Luck, Shirley.
  18. Thanks! I appreciate that... But I'm still Trying. Everyday is a New Adventure with the Band. But No! Regrets at all !
  19. Stuck all the time ! No ! As long as you take small bites (I like the size of a DIME, you have control of it in your mouth.) chew it up to the consistency of applesauce, and take your time you won't get stuck. If you eat thick Doughey foods, that are Dry, and won't go down, yes you will get stuck! You will learn very fast, which foods do not agree with you and your band. Those foods you will not eat. Good Health to you, Shirley.
  20. I still sip with my meals. Maybe afer my next fill, things might change. Who Knows ! If I don't sip, I can only eat a couple of spoons, of food, and that's it, I must stop eating.
  21. Congrats on the loss ! Even if your not to happy with it. A loss is a Loss, it's better then a Gain..
  22. Ask your Dr.s Insurance person that question , just to play it safe. I lost over 100lbs. on a 12 month diet . 1200 calories a day. But ,,, I started out at 356, so I was still well overweight. That makes a difference. I'm sure that if you loose to much "CHECK YOUR BMI CRITERIA WITH YOUR iNS." They might try to wiggle out. I have seen a lot of people loose weight, but then strap on weights over the body, when getting weighed. The Dr. has his numbers, and the patient has theirs. Check with your Dr.'s Office, and see what they say.. Shirley.
  23. They are right ! So as you can see the band is a teaching tool... Once you have gone threw this process. you will say I will never do that again ! Chances are 50/50 You might try it again, because your love for the food, well you hate to end that friendship. Now you will either get stuck or get lucky. But if it is a Food that commonoly gets stuck. Don't worry, you will be stuck again. Then you will stick to NO WAY ! am I doing that again.. Now you just have to continue to try different foods, just to see if you can tolerate them or not. Trust me,,, It's still worth it.....
