Bm..help????

I was banded Jan 9th. I can't tell when I have to go urinate, still! And I have not had a bowel movement. I have been taking Miralax, but nothing. I just started passing gas yesterday. But I have been burping since I was in recovery. My stomach looks like I am pregnant. I fell as if I can have a BM, I will feel less bloated and gas pain will subside.

Any suggestions for me to have a BM? I walk everyday, so I am definitely walking.

I was banded on Jan 6th, and just finally had a BM 2 days ago. I was really worried too. However, when you consider how little food (liquids) we're consuming, it's to be expected.

As long as you're passing gas, you're ok. I'd give it another day or two, and if you're still worried, call your doc.

It took me about a week initially. I finally had a probiotic yogurt and things happened. I still have occassional times when I can't go for a day or two. I was always very regular. Make sure you are drinking lots of water as well.

I didn't have a BM till 4 days after surgery. My doctor told me to take 4 doses of Milk of Mag each day for the first 48hrs. I've had three BMs and I am on day 8 post op.

Urinating is another story... I had trouble especially the first few days. Now I'm trying to make sure I get enough liquids in order to flush my kidneys. I just make sure I go atleast 3 times daily.

As far as Urinating,,,, I'm thinking it's from the Foly Cathateer that you had in at surgery. You will go eventually, just keep drinking.

Call your Dr. about the BM, and mention the Urinating to.

Mine told me Water in, and water out ! since were really only drinking.

Check that out with him.
