  1. They gave you those Meds. for a reason, You should take them as instructed. Even if you feel a little o.k.,,, don' stop taking them rite away, because you might get hit like a brick with pain. So nice and steady.
  2. Ogh, don't I remember those days.... and YES ! it hurts. Your body is saying feed me like you use to, or I'll let you know about it until you do.. DeToxing is what that is. You can add stress or whatever you want to it, but your body is missing what its use to having. It will go away, but everyone's different. So I can't say how long. It'll get better though. Vitamins are a key point ! Even though in the liquid stage, we were given Flintstone's COMPLETE / CHOLINE. These are chewable, and will dissolve in your mouth. So not a big deal. or dissolve them in Water and drink them. They help keep you peppy.. But they must be the complete with CHOLINE. We still take 3 a day. Hope this helps. Shirley.
  3. do you belong to myfitnesspal.com If not yoou should. A lot of us are there, and you can chat if you want. So check it out, if your not allready there. Shirley.
  4. I had Hernia Repair, Lymphnodes removed from the groin "OUCH !". Scar Tissue Removal, and then he put in the Band. Took about 2 weeks of pain meds...
  5. It always is... but keep in touch with your surgeon for fills, and your specialist in adjusting your meds. If you cheat ! It really makes it hard, because it's such a s l o w loss anyway. So keep in touch with your Dr."s, they do play a key part in your weight loss. That's my personal advice only !
  6. Welcome back Kate ! I C U have the 4cc band, so do I. How do you like your little band ? I was banded in 06 also, so I'm sure are paths have crossed. See you around. Shirley.
  7. Fish is a Great Idea! It's nice and light, and high in protein. Dining out can be tricky, so here's some tips. Always cut your portion about the size of a dime, so when you put it in your mouth, your teeth will have controll on chewing, and chewing until it's like applesauce or nothing there. ALWAYS ! Pay attention to what you are doing, "throughout the entire meal"and don't let conversation break your attention on how you must eat. If you do, and it slips down you could get stuck ! So this is very Important. Take your time !, and when something like a lightbulb goes off inyour head that is saying I'm Full ! then stop. That was your Que to stop eating. These are rules that I follow, and they work well for me, remember that every day is different, and you might go out, and not be able to eat much at all ! Don't force it, just go along with it. Enjoy your meal, you will do fine.
  8. I was told that if your to tight for a long period of time "I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG.... " that it can cause the band to erode.
  9. I just saw a New Surgeon Yesterday. All they wanted was my History and surgical, and post surgical notes. They asked me why i didn't have him do the surgery, and i said i was down state. Oggh that's different. It took time, but they ran the notes past a Dr. and he excepted me. I met him yesterday, and had a fill. You have to keep looking, and don't make them think that there's anything wrong with the band, or no one will touch you ! If your just moveing, You'll have to search, but I didn't have a problem. So been ther, and Good Luck to your search. Shirley.
  10. I just got done being where you are at now.... Believe me when I tell you "you will get filled again !" I lost 1/2 of my fill on 11/03.2011.and I got 1/2 cc or ml. Yesterday. I can really feel the difference, but all swelling has had a chance to go down.. So now ! I'm back where I belong. It will happen with you too. 1100-1200 is not bad ! Just make sure your working out. Yes it's a slight back, but ! Your banded, and it will be adjusted again. Do yourself a favor, and let yourself unswell It's so worth it. Shirley.
  11. That's Great. I just went down that path, and went today for a fill. It's been a long time, and Restriction feel Great ! Glad your not to tight ! It sure is NO fun !!!
  12. Excellent Point about it being permanent ! I'm guessing that this is the same Surgeon that put athe Band in that slipped ! Are you sure you want him cutting you up ? My band has been in sinse 06, and it is stitched into the stomach to avoid slippage. You might want to look around, and see if you can get someone to put the band in that way. It is there for good, unless removed. The sleeve also has alot of problems with Malabsorption. I would give that alot of thought if I were you.
  13. Thats the way it was for me when I was first banded. The surgeon explained to me that it is a teaching tool, and you will soon learn what you can have, and what you can't. He was right ! He also told me that I was sensitive, and the band would react to a lot of things. Well for some things it lightened up, and some stayed the same. It's a finickey tool ! That's for sure. Pay attention to your body, and chew, and chew untill it's like applesauce. Weigh your food out on a scale or in measureing cups, and see if your getting near to what he said you should be getting. I drink a little water with a swallow, this helps it go down "OTHERWISE I WOULD GET 2-3 TABLESPOONS, AND THAT'S IT ! PER MEAL! ! ! !" He had me hook up with a site, and stay at 1200 calories a day, and 60G of protein a day. This was because I was so sensitive, and told me I could drink warm Tea or water with my meal, just don't go over 1200 calories a day. It worked, and I was full ! Everyone said that's not possible because you washed away your meal, well yes I did, but the band is keeping the hormone that causes hunger supressed, so I am not hungry. So live and learn. I hope this helps you out with your Dilemma. Try myfitnesspal.com it's free ! I am Losingintime on that site. contact me and I'll friend you in. Shirley.
  14. Where baggy clothing to and from the hospital. As far as for at home get a pill crusher/splitter, heating pad, lots of pillows if you sleep in a Recliner, "easier getting up" Flintstone chewable vitamins COMPLETE with CHOLINE these help keep you peppy. s.f pudding, Yogurt, broths, s.f pop cycles, decaff tea, anything light and wet. No pop, or coffee....
  15. Hi Amanda ! Good Question. The best thing to do is join myfitnesspal.com it's free! and you can load in everything that you ate or want toeat, and see how much you can have. Example: say your doing 1200 calories a day, and you recorded only 700, well you still have 500 that you can manage to eat or maybe 300 more wouldn't hurt. As a result,,, you will find yourself eatin 1.000 calories and keeping track of everything. It's also kept in memory in case you ever want to look back for something. Record your ecercise too, and view what other people are eating also, and get ideas,. Look me up, and I can friend you in. I am Losingintime on that site. a lot of us from here are there. I think you will find it useful.
  16. I have a 4 cc band, with 1.5 cc in it. That will change tomorrow. I hope.
  17. Was not a problem.... I told them that I moved, at would now need a surgeon for fills. They sent me in to look at the band under Fluoroscope, and filled me to my fill line.
  18. I have Hypothyroidism, second to Hashimoto Disease. I was banded with no problem. Also,,, we have a Hypothyroid thread on this site. just type Hypothyroid bandsters. Something should come up.
  19. WOW ! A lot of New Bandsters coming aboard... "Yeagh !" Welcome to all of you on that Loosers Bench, where you will soon be. So see you on the other side..... What a bunch of Loosers ! Glad to know you ! Shirley.
  20. I chew 3 Flintstone's Chewables COMPLETE with CHOLINE. I never feel tired at all, because they keep you peppy! You can google the CHOLINE and see it is a form of vitamin B. I have been taking these sinse bannded, and will take them for the rest of my life. If i miss a few days of taking them, I can feel the difference. I feel terrible. After a couple days of taking them, I pick rite up again. Go to the Flintstone and print a coupon, and start buying them on sale. It's worth it.
  21. If I have a slight stuck "which sounds like you have" I drink warm Water, or Tea, and it helps relax the muscles, and it goes threw. If it's more severe of a stuck, it will come up. Either way make sure when this passes, that you drink water or coffee, "but nothing cold !" until you can burp. Then stay on liquids a day or 2. Also sometimes if it's not moving I will continue to drink something warm, untuil it pushes it threw "not to comfterable." or it will flash up. If your at these cross roads make sure your in the bathroom for this one. Good Luck, Shirley.
