  1. Thank you all for being so nice. I am going to try some ice chips and see if they will go down. If not I'll try broth. I was really stressing about this but I feel better now. I'm going to get some sleep and hopefully things will be better in the morning!
  2. Long story short, I'm 18 weeks pregnant. Lap band has been a little crazy through out pregnancy, goes from super loose to extremely tight for no known reason. I had an appointment for an unfill on Wed but did so well the week before (no stuck episodes, everything going down easily) so I cancled. Last night in the middle of the night I woke up coughing and threw up. First time that has ever happened. I knew I would be crazy tight this morning so I waited until 11 to try anything at all. I drank 2 sips of milk and immediately threw it up. I was that tight! I waited a couple of hours and tried one teaspoon of water. That went good so I sipped a little. After 15 minutes or so that came up too! I really thought I would be a lot looser tonight so I held out for that. Normally no matter what has gone on during the day by 7 I am so loose that I can get mushies down at least. I tried tomato soup and threw that right up. I am so tight now that I am having to spit out my siliva. I called my dr and talked to the oncall dr. He was really rude (which I understand) and pretty much said well its your fault you didn't call during the day, if you want an unfill find an ER to do it. I have called every er around and they all say that they won't touch lap bands and the best they can offer is a IV. I have no idea what to do! My dr doesn't open again until monday. Any advice or tricks to get this thing loosened up? I know this is completely my fault, I just have no idea what to do now! Thank you in advance for any help! Allison
  3. Posting this here becasue it really has nothing to do with pregnancy. I was banded in October 2011. I had 3 fills putting my at 8.5cc's in my 10cc band. I had good restriction, exercised 5 days a week, logged everything that went in my mouth and never went over 1000-1200 calories. I couldn't lose a single pound! SERIOUSLY! The scale wouldn't budge. Fast forward to January. All of a sudden weight starts falling off. I thought well finally my body is cooperrating. I found out 8lbs and 4 weeks later that I was pregnant. Since then I am down 27lbs. I am currently 15 weeks. I was remembering back to my last pregnancy without the band and I also lost weight then instead of gainning. As soon as I had my son my weight shot up. It was crazy! I weight 10lbs more 2 weeks after his birth and I was breastfeeding. Has this happened with anyone else. Is it some kind of hormonal imbalance? If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them! TIA! ~Allison
  4. I wanted all of my scars below my belly button so when I have a tummy tuck later they will all be gone, so mine is right beside my belly button on the right.
  5. Got my 3rd fill yesterday (under floro) by the actual surgeon. We had discussed what I was eating and how much I was exercising, and the fact that I have yet to lose a pound. He said he would fix the hungry part for me. He was being really nice. Well long story short, I think I am a little to full. My first fill was in an empty 10cc band and it was 2cc. My second was 4cc and yesterday he added 2.5cc bringing me up to 8.5cc total. At the office when I sipped the water I could feel a heaviness in my chest. It wanted to come back up, but I kinda "willed" it down. I waited 15 minutes and left. In the car I couldn't "keep it down" any more so I guess I did what is called PBing. Weird thing is, it was only foam...Sorry, gross I know. The rest of the day I could sip a tiny amount of water and sometimes it would go and stay down and sometimes it would come back up. I got some liquid ibuprofen down last night to help with the swelling and in the middle of the night I was able to sip a teaspoon full at a time. It still felt heavy in my chest but didn't come back up. This morning is the same way. I am trying not to push it so I don't PB again and cause more swelling. The DR told me when he was filling me not to attempt to eat anything until I lose at least 10lbs and the band loosens. I guess my question is should I just keep on with the tiny sips of water of the next few days or should I go have some let out? I hate to go back because I don't want to seem whiney. I have never had any restriction at all so I'm new to all of this. Is this how it should be after a fill?
  6. When did you get banded?? Did you reach your green zone on the 11th?? I'm so ready to start losing and get out of bandster hell!
  7. A trick I use to make myself go to the gym is telling myself that I'll just go walk on the treadmill. I've learned that getting myself to the gym and in the door is 90% of the battle! Once I'm there I do lots more!
  8. I am right there with you on the no restriction part! I am going for my 3rd fill on the 24th and I really hope it does the job! So ready to be off of this "diet" and get some help :/

  10. Thanks guys! I'm trying so hard at the gym, I just wish I could get some help in the eating department! I'm keeping the faith that this is going to work! I called my dr's office nd tgey assured me that everything is okay and I would probably be restricted between fill 3-5.... Oh how I am hoping that fill 3 does it for me! I also asked about coming back earlier....they said absolutely must be 4 weeks between fills

  13. Yes I can eat anything! And I know it is awful but I have been. I will be so good and use every ounce of will power I have for 3-4 days then I break down and eat crap. This is so hard. I don't feel like the band is doing anything. Nothing gets stuck, no pain, no PBing, nothing.... every once in a while I will eat something to fast and I can feel it going down but it just goes right down. I am not feeling full at all. :/
  14. Posting from my phone please excuse the typos...
  15. I got my second fill 1 week ago. My fist was 2cc's and this second they put in 4cc's. At first they added 2ccs but when I swallowed the barium(sp) liquid it went right through so they added 2 more but didn't have me swallow more barium. They said that way a huge amount to add. I still have no restriction....and I really suck at will power last week I started going to the gym for 2 hours, 5 days a week.... I gained weight I am starting to freak put that this isn't going to work for me. I'm at 6ccs in a 10cc band and I still feel nothing.... Please, please, please tell me there is still some hope here and that I can pull this off. P.s. there wouldn't be a problem with the band right?? I'm freaking myself out....
  16. I had surgery on 11/11/11 and I personally don't think you are going to feel up to it! If you do feel like going, just say your throat is hurting really bad and you just want to sip on some tea.
  17. I feel hungry at weird times. Sometimes I am good to go on just a little bit and I say full for hours, other days I feel like I could eat a house and I would be starving! I'm just trying to follow the rules.... I am really hoping the first fill helps.
